Being saved...
« on: September 26, 2020, 10:31:18 am »
I have said this before and anyone who has run into me much should know what I believe and why, but here it is again in a nutshell...I believe salvation is a process, much as life is a process.
Scripture calls our new spiritual birth, salvation in 2 Corinthians 5:21
Likewise, Philippians 2:12 talks about salvation being a daily thing we do, not just believe...iow's belief of the heart is salvation, but living out our faith is also salvation
In the same line of speech, we see that our endurance is salvation...2 Corinthians 1:6
but so is our inheritance of eternal life in the heavenly places...1 Peter 1:3-5

Another thing I believe as per the premise for the question is that the HS is our assurance of salvation...Ephesians 1:14 and others.

The answer to the following question will change based on what you believe salvation is which is why I start this post with my premise about what salvation is. So the question then is this...isn't salvation what we live in every day of our lives not just something we look forward to one day? And if you are NOT living daily in your salvation, where is your assurance not only of salvation but of the evidence of the Living God?

All that you mentioned comes with the process and yet we do have this blessed assurance. We can KNOW we are saved. Conditions? If you must define it then yes, there are acts and thoughts and guidance that WILL be known and shown if one is living IN CHRIST. I declare 1 Corithians 15:1-4 KJV - as our gospel of salvation. Reading these verses with astute comprehension there ARE conditions. Let's look at the ESV -

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 ESV -

Now I would remind you, brothers,[a] of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, 2 and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.

3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV -

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
