To fully understand this angelic gospel, the surrounding verses need to be incorporated for further understanding.

[Revelation 14:6 KJV] "And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,"
[Revelation 14:7 KJV] "Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters."
[Revelation 14:8 KJV] "And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication."
[Revelation 14:9 KJV] "And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive [his] mark in his forehead, or in his hand,"
[Revelation 14:10 KJV] "The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:"
[Revelation 14:11 KJV] "And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name."..............There are in fact, three angels proclaiming messages. The third angel says to "worship him", the true God and Lord Jesus, as opposed to worshiping the beast and his image. Someone said this wasn't a salvation gospel; I beg to differ. The third angel warns that if one worships the beast and takes his mark, they shall suffer the wrath of God and everlasting torment; the angels were preaching salvation.
 

[2Thesalonians 3:1 KJV] "Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have [free] course, and be glorified, even as [it is] with you:" [2Thesalonians 3:2 KJV] "And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all [men] have not faith.".........It struck me that Paul needed deliverance from not only wicked men, but unreasonable men, who refused to be persuaded by his reasoning from scripture. They rejected the clear, reasonable presentation of the truth of scripture..........[Acts 18:4 KJV] "And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks."

This post will examine the claim that there is only one coming of the Lord Jesus.

[1Corinthians 15:51 KJV] "Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed," [1Corinthians 15:52 KJV] "In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed."
[1Thesalonians 4:16 KJV] "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:"...........These verses describe the coming of the Lord at the rapture. The only events recorded in the rapture is a shout, the voice of the archangel, and a trump. Now compare the events that occur at his coming at the rapture with the events that happen at his coming at the end of the tribulation............[Matthew 24:29 KJV] "Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:" [Matthew 24:30 KJV] "And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory."..........These events occur at the coming of the Lord after the tribulation. None of these spectacular events are said to happen at his coming at the rapture.

[Zechariah 14:4 KJV] "And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which [is] before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, [and there shall be] a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south."..........Compare this verse with the following one...........[1Thesalonians 4:17 KJV] "Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.".........It is obvious that these two verses demonstrate two comings, one on the ground, and one in the air.

This article will look closely at this passage in Luke to determine why, and to whom, Christ came.

[Luke 1:67 KJV]"And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying,"[Luke 1:68 KJV]"Blessed [be] the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,"

The Lord Jesus Christ came to redeem only his people, Israel. Redemption means to have deliverance from the penalty of sin. [Hebrews 9:12 KJV] "Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption [for us]."

[Luke 1:69 KJV]"And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;"
[Luke 1:70 KJV]"As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:"
The prophets spoke of a suffering Saviour.
[Luke 24:44 KJV] "And he said unto them, These [are] the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and [in] the prophets, and [in] the psalms, concerning me."

[Luke 1:71 KJV]"That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;"
Jesus came also to physically save his people. Believing Israel will also be physically saved in the tribulation.

[Luke 1:72 KJV]"To perform the mercy [promised] to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant;"[Luke 1:73 KJV]"The oath which he sware to our father Abraham,"
The promise and his holy covenant was to make Israel a father of many nations, to be a God to his people, and give them a land for an everlasting possession.[Genesis 17:4 KJV] "As for me, behold, my covenant [is] with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations."[Genesis 17:5 KJV]"Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee."[Genesis 17:7 KJV]"And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee."[Genesis 17:8 KJV]"And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God."[Genesis 17:9 KJV]"And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations."
God established Israel and made covenant only with them. God was only dealing with Israel in a covenant relationship.
God gave the Lord Jesus Christ to Israel as a covenant.[Isiah 42:6 KJV] "I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;"

[Luke 1:74 KJV] "That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,"[Luke 1:75 KJV]"In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life." God will deliver Israel from oppression to serve him. God has a purpose reserved and applicable to Israel only.[Luke 1:76 KJV]"And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways;"[Luke 1:77 KJV]"To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins," God forgave the sins of national Israel to become a blessing and to bring salvation to the world.

At this time, in this dispensation, God was only dealing with Israel in his covenant relationship. God was offering salvation to his people, not the Gentiles. In God's wisdom, and time, he would save the Gentiles. The salvation of the Gentiles would fully come thru Paul, in the dispensation of grace.

[COLOSSIANS 3:3-7 KJV] 3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, [who is] our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. 5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: 6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: 7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.

We in the body of Christ are told to mortify, put to death, our fleshly members because our life is hid with Christ. We are to look not on our earthly life, but our life with Christ. We are to look to when we will appear in glory.

The following passages reflect this as well. The works of the flesh should be mortified because we are dead to that life, We are to know that we are dead to the flesh and have a new glory in Christ:
[1CORINTHIANS 6:9-11 KJV] 9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
[GALATIONS 5:19-21 KJV] 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are [these]; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told [you] in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
