Let there be LIGHT!
« on: March 31, 2020, 10:26:57 pm »
As always I urge you not believe a thing I say but rather be a good Berean and find out for yourself in Acts 17:11......For GOD in Pro 25:2..(KJV).."It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter."

I recently had another poster in another forum ask these questions about Genesis 1:

" I am trying to reconcile a couple of verses in Genesis 1.

Verses 3 to 5 says that on the 1st day, God divided the light from the darkness, calling the light Day and the darkness Night.

But then Verses 14 to 19 have God creating what I take to be the sun, moon and stars on Day 4.

So if there was no sun until Day 4, how can there have been 3 'days' before that?

    Thanks."

******My Answer*****

Good afternoon ............

In Gen 1:3.."And God said, Let there be light: and there was light."

Lets go back to Gen 1:2.."And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved (Brooded) upon the face of the waters."   (emphasis added)

The newly formed earth was void and dark as the Holy Spirit brooded across the surface. The light GOD called to light the world was the 'Light of Himself'.( Rev 22:5...)

He then divided the Light into Darkness (absence of light). This set the battle between light and darkness. Even mankind is in darkness unless they have the Light of God.

Rev 22:5..."And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever."

The New Earth and New City of Jerusalem, there will be no darkness only Light from God Himself.  (Rev 22)

This was the first prophecy of the Bible given by the Word of God.."Let there be Light". From this moment in time, the world and her inhabitants would be divided in Light and Darkness (good and evil) until the end as spoken by Isaiah 46.

In Isa 46:10.."Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:"

*******

As to Gen 1:5.."And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day."

God used His Light to separate the Light of the Day from the Darkness of the Night to create a 24 hour day. He also used Light of the Day and the Darkness of the Night to separate the good and evil of Mankind as we see in 1 Thes 5:5.

1 Thes5:5.."Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness."

****

Gen 1:14.."And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:"

The sun, moon and stars were placed inside the firmament to accomplish Gen 1:14. They were not used as a divide between Good and Evil.

Only God's Light can do that (Gen 1:3) "And God said, Let there be light: and there was light."

1 Cor 15:3-4.."For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:"

Acts 17:11.."These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so."
