The allowance contingency:
'only the Father knows.'
The four times when the 'master' might return in Mk 13
2 Peter 3:  do not call a delay a failure to return.

So there always was an allowance that the worldwide judgement of v29+ could be much later, even though he says it would be right after (the events in 1st century Judea). 


All eschatology systems seem to fail to account for the allowance and think that the worldwide judgement happened (preterism; I am not) or move all of Mt24 to the distant future (futurism; I am not that either).
