Make sure you differentiate between "Apocrypha" and authentic Old Testament books.

The books listed below are accepted as part of the authentic Old Testament canon by Eastern Orthodox, Coptics, Traditional Anglicans, Catholics, and others... . . ...in other words almost all of Christianity. Unfortunately the people who created this sub-forum are in the EXTREME MINORITY regarding their view of the OT Canon.

The Old Testament includes:
The Book of Tobit
The Book of Judith
The First Book of Maccabees, also called 1 Maccabees
The Second Book of Maccabees, also called 2 Maccabees
The Wisdom of Solomon, also called The Book of Wisdom
The Book of Sirach, also called Ecclesiasticus
The Book of Baruch, with the Letter of Jeremiah as its last chapter
(NOTE: The Book of Daniel and the Book of Esther are longer in Catholic Bibles than in Protestant Bibles because they have more stories.)

@dakk - Will you copy/paste your posts from TF on Apocrypha and post them here? I can do it if you don't want to. I want a basic beginning to the study of these texts and who better than you brother?

Hi PJ, I don't mind at all or you can if you wish. I'm not sure which posts you are talking about because I thought I already saw where you posted some of them in other threads here already. But, by the way, I just happened to see this in the side-bar on the chat page: I didn't get a message that you had mentioned my name in this post. Am I doing something wrong? or do I need to turn something on in my settings? I also don't seem to get any notifications for anything else but just assumed that was because I haven't been around or posting much anyways.

Edit: PS, I think I just figured out the mention notification, (I changed the option to send me an email).

The 4 FALLS of SATAN: The Dragon's Fall from Glorified to the Lake of Fire

The Bible speaks of 4 falls of Satan. This leads me to theorize that Satan was created with a body, and that he lost his body in the first fall (Ezekiel 28). The second fall will be from the heavenly realms, as a spirit, strictly bound to earth (Revelation 12).

Then the third fall will be from this earth state, into the prison in the bottomless pit (Revelation 20). And finally, he will go from the pit to the lake of fire, but only after he is released for a short while (Revelation 20). All of this leads me to believe that Satan, the dragon, will present himself as the alien savior or some kind of creator being from outer space.

He will then give the authority to the beast and the false prophet.

don't believe Isaiah was ascended at any time and He did not rewrite the Books that were destroyed by Babylon. Babylon did not destroy anything until many years later...Isaiah was already long dead.

Much to some of my professors in religious studies, I find the Apocrypha interesting, intrigue and in a way the hidden dark side to the foundation of Modern Christianity. The first thing that drew me into studying these is that they were not included as Canonical. The next is in cursor reading the read like they are conical but in looking at the content, they cause questions and issues with accepted conical texts.
Contradictions and disagreement in texts like that suck me in to learn more.

I have got a basic white paper due on any topic and I want to do it on one of the Apocrypha texts, but so much has been written already not sure I have anything new to add to it.

Awesome Mark, I think if you picked one of these two videos and pay attention to the texts they mention and read those it will be more than enough for an original paper. You could also pick Barnabas or another book or books. Thank you again for joining the forum.
