I think most men and especially young and young-ish men have to make a conscious effort and a split second decision not to gawk. I can't explain how we get this way but it's a conditioned response maybe? I can't say it's instinctive although men are instinctively attracted to women and vice versa, but again, I'd say that MOST men are programmed to look and "check it out" as looking a woman up and down in just a second or two. Do women do or feel the same things? As I'm 50 now I don't gawk but I still have the strong inclination to.
