Acts 8:12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

Philip preached to Samaria. He was preaching the name of Jesus and the coming prophetic Kingdom. The Kingdom was the fulfillment of prophecy; the reign of Christ on earth along with David and the twelve apostles, at which time the new covenant would cause the remnant of Israel to obey the law of God and become a light of salvation to the Gentiles (Daniel 7:18 Isaiah 2:2 Isaiah 60:3).

8:27 And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,

8:28 Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.

Above, the angel of the Lord directed Philip to go to Gaza, where, he met the Ethiopian reading Isaiah.

8:35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.

Philip preached Jesus.

8:36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?

8:37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

The Ethiopian believed that Jesus was the Son of God and according to the commandment to Israel was baptized for remission of sins (Acts 2:38). The redemption of the cross was not yet revealed, Israel was only to believe on the name of Jesus (John 3:16-18) and have faith in his name (Acts 3:16). The sins of Israel would not be blotted out until the coming of Christ (Acts 3:19).

Acts 9:19 And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus.

9:20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.

9:21 But all that heard him were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests?

9:22 But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.

Paul met the Lord Jesus on the road to Damascus where he was saved by grace and believed on the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Timothy 1:14-16). First thing, he went to the Jews in the synagogues and preached Jesus as the Christ, the Son of God. Paul preached Jesus as the Son of God and proved he is Christ. Paul was preaching Jesus as Christ and the Son of God as the foundation of the revelations he received from the Lord Jesus.

Jesus himself and the twelve apostles preached, as the foundation, Jesus is Christ, the Son of God. They preached this foundation of Christ and fully revealed the gospel of the Kingdom; that Christ would establish His kingdom on the earth. Israel was to believe on the name of Jesus Christ for eternal life, to believe Jesus is Christ, the Son of God (John 20:31).

Paul preached the same foundation of Jesus as Christ, the Son of God, but revealed his gospel of faith alone in the death and resurrection of Christ for justification to eternal life (Romans 3:21-26).
