THE PROMISE
« on: July 08, 2020, 04:43:56 pm »
The new covenant is not the same as the new testament. The new testament was the death of Christ to forgive Israel the sins under the first testament (Hebrews 9:15). The mystery revealed by Paul revealed the new testament shed blood was applied for our forgiveness as well. The new covenant is future and will be made when Christ returns to establish his kingdom. The new covenant will forgive the iniquity of Israel and cause them to keep his law in the kingdom. The Holy Spirit will be given to the remnant of Israel to give them power to go through the tribulation and enter the kingdom on earth; the power, not the new covenant, is given to the remnant for this purpose.

The Holy Spirit will give the believing remnant of Israel power to go through the tribulation period and be able to enter into the kingdom on earth when Christ returns.

In the thousand year kingdom on earth, God will make the promised new covenant with Israel and give his spirit to the remnant.

John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

The Holy Ghost will be sent (John 16:7) to teach the remnant in the tribulation.

Luke 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

Jesus was speaking of the power of the Holy Ghost which would come onto the disciples; the disciples were to preach his name among the nations for the remission of sins during the tribulation.

The Holy Ghost was given to the remnant at Pentecost in Acts 2; although postponed, at that time, the tribulation was at hand, and the remnant was receiving power for the tribulation.

In the kingdom on earth, the new covenant, will, by his spirit, cause Israel to keep the commandments according to Ezekiel 36:27.

This is not biblical "The Holy Spirit will be given to the remnant of Israel to give them power to go through the tribulation and enter the kingdom on earth; the power, not the new covenant, is given to the remnant for this purpose".

Jer 31:33.(KJV).."But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people."

Notice the "after those days" referring of course days after Daniel's 7-th Week. The rest of Jer 31:31-36, tells us that God will give the remnant of Israel the "New Covenant" after the Tribulation. It does not say anything about giving them power.

Luke 24:49 is speaking of the Spirit to give Israel power in the tribulation

The power Luke, Mark speaks of is the Holy Spirit. It is the same "POWER" you and I have...They are part of the Church (Body of Christ) same as you and I. We are all one body. His Body.

There were three thousand plus the apostles who received the Holy Spirit that day. The Day the Church (Body of Christ) was born, (Acts 2)

Acts 2:47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

The church was not born here as you say......Joel was quoted as being fulfilled to Israel.

How could the church be born when the Lord ADDED to the church?

The church added to was the church of God, the remnant of Israel, the little flock.

Yes, the church is added to each day and when the number that fulfills the prophecy, we will be raptured. Simple as that.

Joel was speaking about Israel during the Day of the Lord....not what you wanted him to  say.

If one builds a church Brick and Mortar and opens its door on April 5, 1999. At this time it has 100 members and at some time in the future, this church receives into their congregation many new members all at one time....Does this Church change its starting date because of these new members....Doug, This is not even logical....

The Church (Body of Christ) has been accepting members from day one when it received three thousand. How many did it receive from that time until Acts 10 where it received 5,000 more. Maybe we should make its starting date, Acts 10.... It is logical according to you... along this line of thinking, the newest person on earth that was saved was a few seconds ago. Then the Church should change its starting date to today July 20,2020. It would fit in with your illogical thinking.
