THE CITY OF GOD IS FOR THE REMNANT OF ISRAEL
« on: February 25, 2020, 08:01:43 am »
The heavenly city is not promised to the church, the body of Christ. The city is prepared for the Hebrews, the believing remnant of Israel.

Hebrews 11:8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

11:9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:

11:10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

Abraham looked for the heavenly city of God promised believing Israel (Revelation 1:9 Revelation 3:12 Psalm 48:1-2 Isaiah 52:1).

12:16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.

12:17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.

The Hebrews, just as Esau, could forfeit their blessing and inheritance in the Davidic kingdom on earth (Exodus 19:6 Daniel 7:18 Luke 12:32 Luke 1:32-33), and find no place of repentance to reclaim it (Hebrews 6:6).

12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

The church, the body of Christ, is not given place on earth in the city of the living God, but rather, heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6). The Hebrews were given to know, they were to come unto the city.

12:23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

The Hebrews were urged to go onto perfection in Hebrews 6:1, and here they are perfected in Christ Jesus.

12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things that that of Abel.

The Hebrews are the ones who come to Jesus as the mediator of the new covenant, made only with the house of Israel and Judah (Jeremiah 31:31 Hebrews 8:6-12). The Hebrews are the ones who come to the blood of sprinkling (Exodus 24:8 1 Peter 1:2 Hebrews 9:18-22 Hebrews 10:22).

12:28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:

The Hebrews are the ones to receive the kingdom on earth, and reign with Christ (Revelation 20:4-6 Luke 19:11-17).

13:12 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.

13:13 Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.

13:14 For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.

Once again, the Hebrews, like their father Abraham, are seeking the new Jerusalem city of God.

13:20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

13:21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Jesus was raised from the dead to sit on the throne of David (Acts 2:30), which gave Israel assurance that Jesus, being alive, was going to return to establish their promised kingdom on earth.

Jesus is the great shepherd of the sheep, which is only used to describe his people Israel (Psalm 80:1 Isaiah 40:11 John 10:11 1 Peter 5:4).

The Hebrews, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, would be perfect in every good work to do his will. Jesus shed his blood for the new testament for Israel, to redeem their transgressions under the first covenant (Hebrews 9:15). The Hebrews would be caused to do the will of God in the new covenant through his Spirit (Jeremiah 31:31-34 Deuteronomy 30:5-6 Psalm 40:8 Ezekiel 11:17-20 Ezekiel 36:25-27 Hebrews 10:15-17).

Hey Blade

The new Jerusalem is for believing Israel of God to enter and the Gentiles nations that would have blessed Israel and received Jesus as Messiah,Son of God (Revelation 21:12).

The church, the body of Christ will sit in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6 Ephesians 3:10).

But if the words: Israel, Church, sheep, sinful good seed, elect and GOD's legitimate children all refer to the same group undergoing different experiences designed to teach this group of people that there really is NO salvation to be found in any but the Divine Messiah, your conclusion is moot.

No law can save HIS sinful children.
No judge can save HIS sinful children.
No king can save HIS sinful children.
No prophet can save HIS sinful children.
Ony the death of the divine Messiah can save HIS sinful children.

Wheat are NOT reborn / regenerate tares !!!

Matt 13:36-43  ...Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.

38 the field is the world
good seed are of the kingdom sown by the Son of man
tares are of the wicked one 39 sown by the devil

In believing that the believing Jews share the heavenly portion and the now unbelieving but future believing Jews the earthly, I have a better hope for Esau, disqualified from Heaven but qualified for Earth and the new Earth.

He had certainly meeked out by the time Jacob returned and the meek shall inherit the earth.

This is Edom the descendants of Esau, Lot was without doubt righteous if backslidden. But his descendents were Moab who were avowed enemies to Israel.

You can't seem to get your head around who the remnant were/are or what their purpose is.

They were not the unfaithful or disobedient Jews who turned back to the Lord in the time of Elijah. They were the 7,000 who had not kissed or bowed the knee to baal. The remnant stayed ever faithful to the Lord and their purpose was to keep the truth alive for ALL Israel in anticipation of the time when the whole nation would turn back to God as at Mt Carmel.

"If God had not saved a remnant we would have fared as Sodom and Gomorrah" cries Isaiah , but Israel did not fare as did Sodom and Gomorrah which God overthrew and totally destroyed ... even though Israel's sin was worse.

Paul quotes Isaiah and says indeed God has saved a remnant of whom he was one "I myself am a Jew" so the believing church among the Jews are/were the remnant.

They should be seen as a candle of hope for the promise "and so all Israel will be saved."

They should be seen as a candle of hope for the promise "and so all Israel will be saved."

And you Billy cannot separate the dispensations from the OT to the end times where a remnant* of all Israel will be saved.....because they are predestined to go through Daniel's 70th week  Dan 9:24-27) where 2/3 of them will perish and 1/3 (the Remnant of all Israel) are saved.

*Remnant Def....
1a : a usually small part, member, or trace remaining
b : a small surviving group óoften used in plural

Zec 13:8-9..KJV.."And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein. v9..And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God."

The Jews on earth (Israel) during the Millennium will have the New Covenant placed in their hearts and minds by Jesus but will NOT receive redeemed bodies as His Church will. They will remain mortal using the tree of life to extend their lives indefinitely. ]

they are separate from those that Believe in Christ, thus are a part of the Church. Those part of the Church (Body of Christ) are one, both Gentile and Jew. The believers in the OT were placed in Abram's Bosom until Jesus came about and took all of those in Abram's Bosom to Paradise (Heaven).

Billy, If you are a messianic Jew, then you believe and are part of the church where you will remain forever. You as a Jew will not live as a mortal on earth during the millennium or any other time...You as the rest of us, will be kings as Priest helping Jesus rule the world during this time...  Rem this, those in the church will see Jesus (in spirit) because we will be like HIM.

Yes, yes you get your prophecies all in a muddle, you listen to crooked commentators too much.
You quote Zech 13.
What does Zech. 14 say?
It begins "behold the day of the Lord cometh and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee
For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle and the city shall be taken and the houses rifled and the women ravished and half the city will go forth into captivity and the residue of the people will not be cut off

Then the Lord shall go forth to battle and fight against those nations as when He fought in the day of battle.

It's a different time and a different prophecy, yes there will be trouble at Jerusalem.

You can't dismiss scripture my bro. the scripture says the prophecies you quote belong to the time of the cross.

If you want to quote Daniel why not quote chapter 12? no you quote ch.9. which belongs to an earlier time
.

Chapter 12 deals with time of trouble. The Michael the mighty cherubim will stand up for Israel and deliver them.

Get it straight when the Lord comes He will destroy Antichrist, That is the end of all persecution during the Millennium, the devil will be locked up.

Israel will be converted at that time.

Israel will be converted at that time.

Thats is the whole problem with the Jews at the time of Jesus...They only had the OT (Septuagint LXX) and they could not distinguish or separate chapters from chapters.

Take Isaiah. In chapter 49, Isaiah spoke of three different servants but Israel could not pick them out. Therefore, they were not looking for Jesus but rather they were looking for a KING (messiah) to rid them of the Roman empire.     You know the rest of the story.....

Even today, most of Israel uses the Talmud (oral Tanakh) which still rejects Jesus Christ. Only the Messianic Jews, those who believe Jesus CHrist is their LORD, savior are given salvation and will not be around when Daniel's 70th week arrives.

what does Zec 14...say....It is the prophecy of Armageddon --can you not see that,...

Verse 1..The "Day of the LORD Cometh"   The second Advent of Jesus?

verse 2.. I will gather all nations against Israel...Now when does this happen Billy except at Armageddon...It has not happened in History that I can find..I doubt you will find it either.

verse 3..The Lord (jesus) will go and fight against the Nations for Israel...WHen has he done this before?????? only in Armageddon.

verse 4..When did His feet stand on the Mount Olive east and west and cleave them into so that a great valley is between them?????WHEN????

verse 5..

I'll no go on, you can read it...It is about the future and if you are NOT messianic, it is talking about your future unless you number comes up before then.

Better think about it.

Oh you are all mixed up Blade.

You fail to distinguish between prophecies concerning  the fall of Israel when God is indeed scattering, punishing them and those concerning the rise of Israel in the last days when God is gathering them, blessing and protecting them.

All these prophecies are in the same books of Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel and others. You have to discern which prophecies pertain to which time.

The fall of Israel began at the first coming of Christ, The rise of Israel pertains to His second coming and is still future.

I would argue that God has already turned to them although they have not yet turned to Him. This is why they are now a nation once more and why they win their battles.

you said:"The fall of Israel began at the first coming of Christ, The rise of Israel pertains to His second coming and is still future."

The fall of Israel, the Diaspora of Israel did not happen until around 135 AD.  "If you forget History, you are bound to repeat it"

I will agree with you that the rise of Israel will happen at his second coming.  The "REMNANT" of Israel where 1/3 of those that are alive at the start of Jacob's Trouble or as Jesus spoke it, "the GREAT Tribulation  will live in the Millennium with Jesus on David's Throne.

And Yes, the OT Saints will have redeemed bodies as the Church (body/bride of Christ) will have.

All you have to do is read the Bible literally...

I really, really bugs me when people deliberately go against scripture in favour of their pet doctrines.

Jacob's trouble is only mentioned by that name once in Jeremiah 30. We know it is the time of trouble [tribulation] such as never was.

Well what does the bible say about Jacob'd trouble? never mind what Hal Lindsey says or Schoffield

YOU brought up Jacob's trouble, what does the bible say?

" Jeremiah 30.7. Alas for that day is great so that none is like it, it is even the time of Jacob's trouble BUT

BUT BUT BUT

he [Jacob ,,, Israel] shall be saved out of it

For it shall come to pass in that day saith the Lord of hosts that I will
break the yoke from off thy neck and
burst thy bonds and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him.

But they shall serve the Lord their God and David their King who I will raise up unto them.

Therefore fear thou not o My servant Jacob saith the Lord, neither be dismayed o Israel for lo I will save thee from afar and thy seed from the land of their captivity and Jacob shall be in rest and none shall make him afraid

for I am with thee saith the Lord to save thee, though I make a full end of all the nations wither I have scattered thee yet will I not make a full end of thee, but I will correct thee in measure.

There is your Jacob's trouble, Daniel 12 says the same thing about the same time of trouble "Michael shall stand up and thy people will be delivered"

Ezekiel speaks the same way in chapter 38, Isaiah says the same in the later chapters even Zechariah says it in chapter 14.

ALL the prophets say it.

Only the church which still has a whiff of anti-semitism about her says that Israel is to slaughtered.

Have faith in God
