MYSTERIES
« on: May 02, 2019, 02:27:39 pm »
1 Corinthians 4:1 Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.

Paul is a minister of Christ and steward, or manager of the mysteries.

Ephesians 3:1 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,

3:2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:

3:3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,

3:4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)

3:5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;

3:8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

3:9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

3:10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,

Paul conveys that a dispensation of God is committed to him. The mystery is revealed in this dispensation to Paul. The mystery was revealed to Paul by Christ.

The mysteries are unsearchable, in that, they were not to be found in the law and prophets.

We are to have fellowship, or communion, in the mystery. We are to have knowledge, unity, and be of one mind in the mystery.

The mystery will reveal by the church, the wisdom of God.

A mystery is wisdom that is not made known in the past, but is now revealed.

God, according to Paul's gospel and the preaching of Christ according to the mystery and by the scriptures, will stablish or strengthen the church (Romans 16:25).

The mystery reveals the blindness in part of Israel and postponement in the fulfillment of the prophetic Kingdom on earth promised to the Israel of God by the dispensation of Grace until the fulness of the Gentiles (Romans 11:25); which is the fufillment of God's purpose for the Gentiles. God has not cast away Israel. Salvation would go to the Gentiles and they would be part of the believing remnant of Israel (Romans 11:5  Romans 11:11) that would enter the Davidic kingdom on earth. God turned to the Gentiles in order to have mercy upon all (Romans 11:32). All Israel, all believing Israel that is, will be saved (Romans 11:26). The kingdom will come with Christ on the throne (Psalms 45:6).

The mystery reveals being caught up to meet the Lord (1 Corinthians 15:51).

The mystery reveals the will of God, by which, He will gather together in one all things in Christ (Ephesians 1:9 Ephesians 1:10).

The mystery revealed that the Gentiles are fellowheirs with Christ in the body by the gospel of grace (Galatians 3:29 Ephesians 3:6). Revealed among the Gentiles is Christ in you, the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27).

The mystery of the body of Christ, the church, is revealed (1 Corinthians 12:27).

Revealed is that the members of the church are one with Christ as exemplified by marriage (Ephesians 5:32). Revealed is that there is now neither Jew or Gentile, all are one in Christ (Galatians 3:28). Christ is our peace who has broken down the middle wall of partition which seperated Jew and Gentile and made of the two one new man (Ephesians 2:14-15), a new creature (Galatians 6:15).

The mystery of the gospel is revealed (Ephesians 6:19), which reveals all can be saved to eternal life freely thru faith in Christ, and His propitiation for us; being justified freely without having to go through Israel for salvation (Exodus 12:48), without covenants (Romans 9:4), without the law (Romans 3:21), and without works (Ephesians 2:9). Christ died for our sins and rose again for our justification (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). This gospel reveals all the blessings the church has, provided in Christ, and the dispensation of Grace (Romans 15:29).

The mystery of Christ which reveals all that Christ accomplished by His cross (Colossians 4:3 1 Corinthians 1:18).

The mystery of iniquity reveals that man of sin is being restrained (2 Thessalonians 2:7). The mystery reveals the present and future distress to be faced and encourages believers to stand fast and know the greater glory to come (Romans 8:18).

The mystery of the faith (1 Timothy 3:9) is the salvation by faith in Jesus Christ (Romans 1:17). Revealed is that salvation to eternal life is not by the law (Romans 3:21), nor by works. Salvation is given freely (Romans 3:24), apart from Israel, apart from covenants.

There are other mysteries that were not revealed by Paul alone and include:

The mystery of godliness is the salvation of God manifested in Jesus Christ. Revealed is that Jesus was manifested in the flesh, and received up into glory (1 Timothy 3:16).

The mystery of God reveals the prophetic Kingdom on the earth promised to the Israel of God and declared by the prophets. Revealed was the salvation in Christ, and His coming reign over that Kingdom. It reveals that God will be all in all (Colossians 2:2  Isaiah 9:7   Revelation 10:7 1 Corinthians 15:28).

The mystery of the Father is His purpose to reconcile heaven and earth to Himself, to bring salvation to the world. Revealed is the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ, God in the flesh. The means of the Father's salvation would be revealed in the progressive revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ, and His redemption  (Colossians 1:20  2 Corinthians 4:6  1 Timothy 3:16   Matthew 25:34    Ephesians 1:7).

The mysteries of the kingdom, which reveal attributes of the kingdom on earth promised Israel (Daniel 2:44).

You Said:"The mysteries are unsearchable, in that, they were not to be found in the law and prophets."

Yet, the OT conceals what the NT reveals and the NT reveals what the OT conceals.

The mysteries spoken of above were alluded to in the OT yet the allusion could not be understood by any..

Hey Bro

I know what you mean about old testament tenants being revealed in the new testament and that is the case as in 1 Corinthians 9:9

However, the mysteries that were revealed to Paul could not be found in the scriptures; they were hid in God, not hidden in scripture.

Ephesians 3:9  And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

Now let me be clear, not everything Paul put forth was mystery; Paul also preached from the law and prophets Romans 16:26  Acts 28:23

Hey Brother

Yes.... Ephesians 3:9 speaks of the fellowship of the mystery.

The fellowship is between Jew and Gentile which has been made one new man in the body of Christ.
