BIBLE VERSIONS CAN AFFECT SALVATION
« on: March 20, 2020, 08:32:08 am »
King James 1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

New King James 1 Corinthians 1:18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

The majority of Bible versions translate the above verse as "are being saved", instead of "are saved". The translation of this verse affects the security of our salvation. If we are being saved, that is saying our salvation is an unfinished process, and not a present possession. We are saved by the redemption of the Lord Jesus Christ, we are justified freely, as a gift of God (Romans 3:21-26 Romans 5:15 Romans 6:23).

This is just one example highlighting the importance of how translations affect doctrine.

No sir.

Salvation is the predestined fulfillment of the redemption of the person chosen, elected, to be HIS Bride...nothing to do with what Bible a person reads for it is of the Spirit, not the man.

We are not saved by doctrine.

We are not saved by doctrine.

YOU are SAVED through Doctrine", The Gospel of Jesus Christ is a Doctrine of the Bible..because it is the WORD of GOD....

WHY ---WHY? Pray tell all....Does all other versions (except KJV) use Predestined transitive verb

Instead of Predestinated, an Adjective  The King James Edition uses.

Why would a version try to change GODs WORD???????

Lets try this, TED:

Imagine a person reading NIV version of the Bible for the first time and they come upon :

1 Tim 3:16..(NIV).."Beyond all question, the mystery from which true godliness springs is great: He appeared in the flesh, was vindicated by the Spirit,[fn] was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory."

Would this person come away (without any help) come away with the idea that Jesus is GOD?      NOooooooooo!  What in this version of this scripture tells you that Jesus is GOD...NOTHING

On the other hand, the Authorized King James tells directly that GOD was manifest in the Flesh If it was GOD who was in the Flesh, then the person in the flesh was Jesus and Jesus must be GOD.....

1 Tim 3:16..(KJV).."And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory."

You see it is very easy for one to direct a new persons beliefs by simply changing the WORD of GOD that are from the KJV.

The KJV Uses WORDs of GOD that have not changed since the first century

but the other versions change, add or remove some of those WORDS ....Just about every year or so they change.

Election does not pick out people for salvation, it is the purpose and determination as to how God saves.

I will have to disagree with that Doug. There are many verses where He tells us HE chose and there are many where they came to him by their wills....

I'll NOT try and resolve this for what He says in Rom 8:29 and John 3:16 gives me pause and the knowledge that I do not know how GOD thinks.

The differences are very great and vital, they began with the Revised Version of the bible. The question to ask is WHY? why are those differences there?

They are there because the men who translated the Revised version and newer texts were men of a different theology to the men [mostly Tynedale] who translated the KJV ... the leanings of the moderns is towards Catholicism and away from the Reformation. They believed in works based salvation and probationary salvation. Some [certainly Westcott] did not believe that Christ indeed God.

You are dead on here Billy., While the other versions are almost the same as the KJV,  they rely on the Doubt of the reader, deny the Deity of Jesus, etc.
