Remember when Venezuela was held up as the great example of socialism done well? As Americans, we heard about Hugo Chavez calling our president (G. Bush) the devil. The people of Venezuela had it great and we had it bad. So how did they do it? Well, they did it just exactly like every other communist government does it; they nationalize industry. So they had oil and nationalized it. They then distributed the wealth to "the people". The people liked this. They got free and subsidized stuff. Woo Hoo.

Guess what? The party is now over. The government ruined the country. Nobody is holding up Venezuela today. But, they did raise the minimum wage this week. That ought to fix everything. I am not happy about all the misery that the Venezuelan people are suffering, but this is another in a long, long, long, line of examples of the failure of communism.

And as we know, the goal of communism is socialism or vice versa, they go hand in hand. Socialism and communism have killed hundreds of millions of people maybe billions.

I will have some material to post in this thread for sure. The demonrats are so far left that they will use socialism as a carrot to dangle in front of uneducated young people who think they will get free healthcare and free college and then a great job. It's insanity.
