Have you ever thought about time.  Each of us only can view a millisecond of it at a time.  Like a projector flipping still pictures on a screen it creates the appearance of motion.

What causes things, all things to exist in the moment we experience them?  Do they exist a millisecond from now?  Do they continue to exist after we have viewed them and are on to the next frame?

Time is measured by change.  When things change very little time rushes by but when there is great change time seems much longer.  That is why when we are kids time seemed like forever but as we matured and changes in our lives slowed down, time seems to rush by.

What if beings were in the time stream a second ahead of us?  We would be aware of them. We could witness any residuals of their actions and see them in their past.  They would not be aware of us.  If they entered the time stream behind us, we would be unaware of them but they could witness our past.

Any way, it is just a thought...angles perhaps...maybe?

I kind of obsess over time. I have shaped my life so that I have the absolute most possible free time in the history of all times, Hah !!! No, but seriously, ever since I got tired of my first job when I was 15 at the Fireworks City massive tent, I realized that MY TIME is what I value most of all worldly things. I agree with your observations of time moving slower at times and faster at others. My friend Greg and I were about 13 and just started smoking weed that fall before and it was now Winter and bitter cold with a good amount of snow.

We had built a clubhouse by the creek in the woods behind our friend Tony's house fro wood he stole at a construction site when he snuck out in his parents' car. He was a year younger than us but anyway, on this particular day it we me and Greg and the creek was frozen solid. We got high and started our deep thinking and he explained to me that he imagines time like photographs or snapshots of scenes, like frozen in time. He made a movement quickly and said "see? that's frozen in time forever !!"

I came to the conclusion that only the past actually exists because at the millisecond you do any action whatsoever, it is immediately in the past. The moment of now exists briefly and everything else is in the past. You presented and interesting thought process for me with the possibility of people popping into points in time etc. Great topic brother, thank you.

Yea, whatever causes existence for each coming millisecond for us has to be outside of time itself.  The original cause can't be constrained by the time or time would stop.

I think of it as a conveyor belt.  If the thing putting items on the conveyor belt is also on the conveyor belt.  The items would only be placed withing the reach of the thing.  So to populate our time with passing moments, that source must be off the conveyor belt itself. Or outside of or time stream.

I used to work maintenance at a huge old warehouse.  I knew every inch of that building and then it burned down, but I can still walk through every inch of it in my mind.  It doesn't exist yet it does in my mind.  But that is true for everything in my past.  The people and places of yesterday do not exist anymore and it is only the shared memories that keep the past alive.  If no one had memories, would time exist?

If nobody had memories then we really would be living in the moment but we'd have learn everything all over again each moment we existed, so that would never be feasible. I think in the future there may be a way to time travel. Now that would explain some things perhaps and raise billions of new questions but wouldn't that be fascinating. I have a vivid photographic memory of places and buildings, woods, anywhere I've spent time.

Time itself is so mysterious and unbiased. I think time began when God spoke creation into existence. God doesn't need time and He may not measure time. We measure time but we haven't measured all of it have we? Human history is only 6,000 years old as far as we can tell. I don't believe carbon dating and I don't believe the earth is 4.5 billion years old.

I think when we are on the other side an activity will be to be able to go back and witness cerian events from the bible and see exactly what happened.

I don't think God is bound by our linear time, but I haven't a clue what that would look like.  I just keep thinking, if he is in our time, then there was a point before he created anything.  That would mean that their was an infinite amount of time before that that he would have existed in total black emptiness...nah!

Is it just me or is time moving really fast lately? It's almost March and it was just Christmas yesterday. Time marches on.

While Chuck has several other videos more in depth on time, this one is informative for those who are NOT  Mathematicians.

1 Cor 15:3-4.."For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:"

Acts 17:11.."These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so."

Yeah, like you watched. Just kiddin' brother. It's hard to watch them all but most times I just listen while doing other stuff. Sometimes I have two things playing at once and I can actually hear much of both, lol.

So, I turn 50 Friday. I guess I've been dreading it now that I think about it. But just now I thought hey, I'm closer to being with Jesus Christ, another day, another week closer. I like that. I don't mind aging today. Maybe tomorrow I will, God willing.

Did God Create Time? (The Nature of Time) (William Lane Craig)

Robert Lawrence Kuhn (host of PBS' "Closer to Truth") interviews William Lane Craig on time in relation to God. Questions explored: How do you deal with God and time? What is the tensed (aka A-Theory or dynamic theory) and tenseless (aka B-Theory or static) theory of time? How do they deal with past, present and future? Who is John Ellis McTaggart? How do scientists use the 4-dimension of time? How does special relativity deal with the A-theory and B-theory of time?

Gregory Ganssle - Is God Temporal or Timeless?

Is God temporal, existing in time as we humans do? Or is God outside of time, eternal, and living a radically different kind of existence? Does God experience everything simultaneously in no time? Does God experience what is for us every event, every moment, in one ineffable moment?
