He probably chose Eve because she was the weaker vessel, and subject to beguilement.

Because he wanted to prove GOD wrong and be like Him..Lori, only through deceiving Eve and her getting Adam to eat of the tree thereby bringing mankind up for a big fall. Only by using His first two human creations against GOD Himself, would he be able to initiate a plan to subplant God with himself.

Satan is a created being. No matter how perfect he is or was (according to the word of GOD) he is still just a created being.
