Why and what do we fear?
« on: August 22, 2019, 07:58:52 am »
2 Timothy 1:7 King James Version (KJV)
7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

What and why do we fear when fear is NOT of God?

2 Timothy 1:7 King James Version (KJV)
7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

What and why do we fear when fear is NOT of God?
I think that Christians in other countries where persecution is extremely severe would believe that this scripture has particular significance to them. They do not show fear and believe that God has given them power, love and a sound mind to endure persecution no matter how bad it is. They don't compromise their faith but stand firm to the end.

Fear can be a tool used to control people. It's used in many different ways; in politics, religion, the media, when our lives or the lives of our loved ones are threatened, and of course in mind control. It can be subtle or obvious.

Fear can also be beneficial in helping us to recognize physical and emotional danger. If we didn't feel it, we wouldn't know to protect ourselves from threats. I have a fear of poisonous snakes so that fear tells me to stay away from that snake because its bite is deadly.

Fear can cause trauma and memory loss. I read about some people who were there when 911 happened. Some of those people experienced so much fear and trauma that they weren't able to remember what happened till years later.

Many physiological changes in the body are associated with fear, summarized as the fight-or-flight response. An inborn response for coping with danger, it works by accelerating the breathing rate (hyperventilation), heart rate, vasoconstriction of the peripheral blood vessels leading to blushing and sanskadania of the central vessels (pooling), increasing muscle tension including the muscles attached to each hair follicle to contract and causing "goose bumps", or more clinically, piloerection (making a cold person warmer or a frightened animal look more impressive), sweating, increased blood glucose (hyperglycemia), increased serum calcium, increase in white blood cells called neutrophilic leukocytes, alertness leading to sleep disturbance and "butterflies in the stomach" (dyspepsia). This primitive mechanism may help an organism survive by either running away or fighting the danger. With the series of physiological changes, the consciousness realizes an emotion of fear.

Eph. 6:12 Because your fight has not been with flesh and blood, but with Principalities and The Rulers and The Powers of this dark world and with wicked spirits which are under Heaven.
1Tim. 4:1 Now the Spirit expressly states that in later times some will abandon the faith to follow deceitful spirits and the teachings of demons, 2 influenced by the hypocrisy of liars, whose consciences are seared with a hot iron.
2Tim. 3:1But understand this: In the last days terrible times will come. 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, without love of good, 4 traitorous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5having a form of godliness but denying its power. Turn away from such as these!

maybe that is why they fear anything because they DO NOT  FEAR GOD.
1 Cor 15:3-4.."For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:"

Acts 17:11.."These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so."
