I'm sorry Lori, I was in a sad state when I sent that.
No worries...I agree the power is in Christ's death and resurrection and saving grace...but He has also promised to send the HS and that HS is the power in our lives...if we are denying that power, the Heb. passage says we are to be denied as well...iow's the power of the indwelling HS is the power that goes beyond His saving grace and gives us life abundantly in the here and now.
I'm not sure exactly but I know I don't qualify, at least I don't believe so. When one's thought is the same as or in accordance with the holy spirit then that is holy and righteous thought, leading to deeds and actions. Also, I see holy and righteous as synonymous really. How can we align our thoughts with the HS? I feel far away from that accomplishment.
scripture tells us to renew our minds, but it also says to take our thoughts captive and think on the things of God.

Brian had a battle over sin that almost ended our marriage.  He can tell you more if you want, about how he overcame, but it involved changing his heart and thoughts, relying on God for his strength.  In fact, I often counsel people to find a way to remind yourself that God is your King, things like key passages posted places you often look,l like mirrors, frig, etc. I put passages in my car when I was on the road a lot and thus was reminded every time I stopped.  Find a keyword, like in this environment, maybe, "corona" or "new normal" something you will hear a lot, and every time you hear that word, pray.  We suggested that to our SS and one of the women chose the word, "I" because she was having trouble with self getting in the way.  There are a lot of ways to remind ourselves to be ever mindful and in the constant presence of the Living God.
