Re: What is sin?
« on: July 08, 2020, 08:02:19 am »

Why is it when we talk about God's power over sin and death that it always comes down to people making excuses for sinning as if God's only power is over death?

Okay, when I sin, it is because I am NOT allowing God to have full control over my life...how can I make it any clearer...God is greater than sin, so if I sin it is my fault for not giving the reigns to God.

Now, the question being asked, is what is sin?  I don't see your answer here.

I guess you and I are not going to GEE-HA on the majority of your questions....I look at sins simply and literally as stated in GOD's Word. You either commit them or you don't. [/quote] so according to God's word, as per the OP question, sin is anything not done in faith...that is the definition I am going with, but you seem to be arguing against that definition all the while claiming that you believe sin is simply and literally as stated in God's word...so since I believe it is as stated in God's word according to the OP question, do you agree or not?

You look at the mechanics of how one sins and what is happening to the person and GOD when one does sin.
I don't have any idea what this is all supposed to mean...the mechanism is not utilizing the power of the HS as we are instructed to do...what happens to the person, they are corrected by God, you know, the son that is corrected is Loved by the father...God when one does sin? God corrects us, not sure why I should question any of these things since they are clearly stated and straight out of scripture...which ones do you disagree with?

Philosophical vs. Practical

Good Day Lori.
I still don't get (cause you won't tell me) why you think the formational study of scripture is a bad thing or not a necessary part of our study.
