What must we believe…

Even in the Old Testament, it was belief that was credited to our account as righteousness.  IOW’s faith is what saves in both the Old Testament and the New... Genesis 15:6; Psalms 106:31; Romans 4:11; Galatians 3:6; Romans 10:4

So what belief saves in the New Testament?

We are to believe in God and in God the Father…
   Psalm 78:22; John 5:24; John 6:40; John 12:44; John 14:1; John 14:7-11;
   Acts 15:11; Acts 18:27; Romans 1:17; Galatians 2:16; Galatians 3:6

If we believe the Father, we must also believe His testimony, but not just His testimony…
   I John 5:6-13; Isaiah 43:8-13; John 1:7; John 19:35; II Thessalonians 1:10;
I John 5:10

The testimony we believe is that of the good news of Christ, the gospel message…
   Mark 1:15; Mark 16:15-17; John 17:20-26; Acts 4:4; Romans 1:16;
   I Corinthians 1:21; John 20:27

This testimony and the good news is true…
   John 8:45; I Thessalonians 2:13; II Thessalonians 2:12; I Timothy 4:3

And that testimony is not just in words but also in works…
   Psalms 78:32; John 10:38
      His promises…
   Psalms 106:12; John 2:22; Galatians 3:22
      The Prophets…
   Luke 24:25; John 5:39

And so what do we believe about Jesus?

We must believe that He is the Christ, the Messiah, the promised One…
   John 6:69; John 8:24; John 11:27; John 28:31; Acts 19:4; I John 5:1
      That He is the Son of God/sent by God…
   John 3:36; Acts 8:37; Acts 16:31; John 16:27; John 17:21
      That He is the Cornerstone…
   I Peter 2:6; Ephesians 2:20; Isaiah 28:16
      He is the Light of the World…
   John 12:36; John 12:46

We believe in His death and resurrection…
   Mark 16:14; John 11:25; John 20:8; I Thessalonians 4:14

That in Him we are justified…
   Acts 10:43; Acts 13:39; Romans 3:22; Romans 10:10

We believe that we can know Him personally…
   I Timothy 1:12; Galatians 3:26; Ephesians 1:5; I John 4:16; Romans 8:28

We are to remain in Him as He is in us, even through suffering...it’s about enduring…
   Psalms 116:10; I Corinthians 5:11; Philippians 1:29
      This in Him is to be like Him, to represent Him through how we live,
obedience…
   John 1:12; John 3:15-16; John 7:38-39; I Peter 1:8; I John 3:23; I John 5:13;
I Thessalonians 4:8

As being one with Him, we know that He answers our prayers…
   Matthew 21:22; Mark 11:23;
      That He is the one that gives Life…
   John 14:6; John 1:4; John 11:25
      That we will be raised and live with Him…
   Romans 6:8; Hebrews 11:6
      That confession is important to our relationship with Christ…
   Romans 10:9; Matthew 10:32; Luke 12:8; I John 4:15

We believe that we have a guarantee of all of this in the Holy Spirit…
   Acts 11:17; II Corinthians 1:22; Romans 8:16; II Corinthians 5:5; Ephesians 1:14

And why?  Because God is One and thus is not divided in His Love
   James 2:19; Deuteronomy 6:4; Mark 12:29

Cannot get any better than that.

I limited the list to only that which scripture says "believe" for the purpose of being specific in finding agreement with those who claim scripture as an authority and are claiming to be true believers...the passage you present, though good, does NOT say believe anywhere in it therefore could be argued by anyone claiming scripture to be the authority and what is believed....I am confident that there are many other things we believe from scripture but they are things that are often disputed, even the passage you post is disputed...

Why do you insist on such insults of me then call yourself righteous?  Seriously...why?  I said nothing at all about not believing every word, I said that I was looking for things that everyone could agree on without argument and you twisted that into some stupid (I controlled my tongue on purpose here) argument that I don't believe everything it says...such a woman bashing statement to make...I will wait for your apology and a correction of your character assassination.

I guess that is where you and I agree to disagree....I believe the whole bible (every word, yot and tittle in it are of His design and authorship. All is to be believed without as you say, dispute.

WOW, even for you that is out of line.... Your first words (Your Topic) were "What must we believe…"    I simply stated that the whole Bible is to be believed...WHY?.....for the LORD GOD said He would preserve it.

Then I get your rant.  " you twisted that into some stupid argument that I don't believe everything it says...such a woman bashing statement to make."

I don't believe there was nothing that I said that disparaged you as a woman.

It is simple....."What must we believe…"  was the question with the following answer..."It would be nice to also believe that GOD is powerful enough to preserve His word for generations to come and every WORD in it are HIS..."   Even this statement recognized that there would be those who did not.( It would be nice)

In the next statement, I simply said we could agree to disagree.
Does that sound like "Woman Bashing"

What will I be called next?

What must we believe…

Even in the Old Testament, it was belief that was credited to our account as righteousness.  IOW’s faith is what saves in both the Old Testament and the New... Genesis 15:6; Psalms 106:31; Romans 4:11; Galatians 3:6; Romans 10:4

So what belief saves in the New Testament?

We are to believe in God and in God the Father…
   Psalm 78:22; John 5:24; John 6:40; John 12:44; John 14:1; John 14:7-11;
   Acts 15:11; Acts 18:27; Romans 1:17; Galatians 2:16; Galatians 3:6

If we believe the Father, we must also believe His testimony, but not just His testimony…
   I John 5:6-13; Isaiah 43:8-13; John 1:7; John 19:35; II Thessalonians 1:10;
I John 5:10

The testimony we believe is that of the good news of Christ, the gospel message…
   Mark 1:15; Mark 16:15-17; John 17:20-26; Acts 4:4; Romans 1:16;
   I Corinthians 1:21; John 20:27

This testimony and the good news is true…
   John 8:45; I Thessalonians 2:13; II Thessalonians 2:12; I Timothy 4:3

And that testimony is not just in words but also in works…
   Psalms 78:32; John 10:38
      His promises…
   Psalms 106:12; John 2:22; Galatians 3:22
      The Prophets…
   Luke 24:25; John 5:39

And so what do we believe about Jesus?

We must believe that He is the Christ, the Messiah, the promised One…
   John 6:69; John 8:24; John 11:27; John 28:31; Acts 19:4; I John 5:1
      That He is the Son of God/sent by God…
   John 3:36; Acts 8:37; Acts 16:31; John 16:27; John 17:21
      That He is the Cornerstone…
   I Peter 2:6; Ephesians 2:20; Isaiah 28:16
      He is the Light of the World…
   John 12:36; John 12:46

We believe in His death and resurrection…
   Mark 16:14; John 11:25; John 20:8; I Thessalonians 4:14

I Thessalonians 4:8

Here is what I will tell you...your claim that I don't take all of scripture as authority is offensive...it even ticked me off since you have tried such with me before...so before I went off, I asked my husband if I was out of line...you know the man scripture says God gave me for such things...and he agreed with me that if I was NOT a woman, you would have read my words differently and would never have made the accusation you did...which ticks me off even more because that kind of thing has absolutely no place in the body of Christ.

You not only were out of line but offensive to everything I have ever said much less anything I have said about me and what I believe.  In fact, I have told you before that a literal understanding of woman's roles is what led me to question the traditional understanding and all you have to offer to that is this BS about me questioning scripture?  Seriously, get over it!!!!! You owe me a huge apology!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Even if you didn't intend it to be sexist, you still owe me a huge apology for slander against everything I have said to you about what I believe and why!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Total bullshit Lori.

There is nothing even remotely sexist in what Blade wrote.  You have serious issues you should attend to before you ever post anywhere again.

Seriously.

be careful, I DID NOT say what he said was sexist, that was his false representation of what I said...what I SAID is that he read it through his sexist glasses...if you can't get the conversation straight, butt out.

You said he was woman bashing...  He said nothing of the sort.

He (simply) said:

You accuse him of "character assassination" while attempting that very thing upon him.

Here is the quote....please highlight the words that you think say he is woman bashing since that is NOT what I said....iow's prove your accusations or join him in owing me an apology for character assassination and slander...this is NOT the first time Blade has tried this with me and I'm fed up

I QUOTED your words (and his) verbatim.

This is where you say you never 'really' said, what you 'actually' said, right?

You (actually) accused him of making a statement that was "such a woman bashing statement to make."  And you assertion simply wasn't (and still isn't) true, because he clearly wasn't "woman bashing" at all.  Being a woman doesn't immunize you from criticism.  It doesn't prevent you from being a forum bully (obviously) and that's what you were being with your false accusation against him.

It's you who owe him an apology.

where is this quote you are referring to? I don't use the word bash often enough for it to be mine quote, maybe it is his quote about what he claims I said...please do evidence your claim.

And just for the record, Blade has repeatedly accused me of the exact opposite of what I have said many times over, I have never once seen him do that with men posters and he already confessed that he has a problem with me being a learned female in the church...

So here we are with you need to evidence two things....1. where I said what you claim I said...and 2. where has blade ever twisted a man's post into the opposite of what the poster really said...do either or both and I will consider your accusation, without either one it's just hot air that smells like the same old sexism.
