It isn't just about one passage it's about the totality of scripture.

Angel of Light...Deceptions
In II Corinthians 11:1-15 Paul is concerned that believers will be led astray by deception.  He is concerned because these false teachers disguise themselves as followers of Christ just as Satan disguises himself as an angle of light.  It has never ceased to amaze me how completely we can be deceived but if we understand Paul’s concern here it shouldn’t surprise us.  Much evil is done in the “name of Christ” as Satan continues to try to destroy that which is good, to hide the light of Christ from man so that he can lead them to death.  He exploits our lusts and prides to lead us away from God and into death. (I John 2:16; Romans 7:18)
Satan has been a liar and deceiver from Genesis through to Revelations.  Genesis 3:13 shows Satan to have lied to and deceived Eve in the Garden of Eden where they had everything.  God however will not allow the deceiver to go unpunished and that includes both Satan and those who follow his example and fall into his will. (Job 12:16)  We guard ourselves from being deceived by the disguises of Satan by knowing scripture and the power of God (Matthew 22:29) and by watching out for deceptions. (Luke 21:8)  We need to come to our senses when it comes to the schemes of Satan and stop sinning for we are not ignorant of God’s will unless we decide to be so ignorant.  We are to be careful about who we spend time with.  This does not mean that we don’t minister to the unsaved but rather that we do not allow them to draw us from God. (I Corinthians 15:33-34) We allow our minds to be seduced from complete and pure devotion to God. (II Corinthians 11:3) We as a people desire to give into our evil desires and when we do we are deceived in our thinking.  The deceptions will only grow worse as we try to justify our own desires. (II Timothy 3:13-14; Titus 3:4-7) Even sorcery can deceive. (Revelation 18:22-24) Those who take the mark of the beast will do so because of deceptions. (Revelation 19:20)  Satan’s deceptions are not only natural to him (Revelations 20:10) but so complete that we are not aware of them when we see them among us. (Matthew 7:15) He deceives with empty words of hollow promises, (Ephesians 5:6) and this deception is not just limited to believers but is for the entire world. (Revelations 12:9)  Which is why we need to test the spirits to see if they are from God or not. (I John 4:1)
Some of the lies that Satan tells us is that it is okay to worship and serve created things. (Romans 1:25)  The one thing we can rest assured of is that God does not lie. (Numbers 23:19; I Samuel 15:29)  We are told to love worthless things and to pursue lies, (Psalms 4:2) it is with flattering lips and deceptive hearts that we become deceived. (Psalms 12:2)  It is when we trust in the Lord and not chase after the things that our pride tells us are good that we are protected from the lies. (Psalms 40:4) It is important to come to God with a sincere heart and to be faithful to his covenants with us. (Psalms 78:35-37) It is the arrogant that smear others with lies. (Psalms 119:69-78) It is God alone that we can trust to be always truthful. (Psalms 119:86; Titus 1:2; Hebrews 6:18) In fact, God rejects those that lie. (Psalms 119:118; Proverbs 19:5; Proverbs 19:9) The dishonest lie. (Proverbs 14:5) Fool utter eloquent words, (Proverbs 17:1) scoundrels use lies to exploit even the poor. (Isaiah 32:7) The unjust believe in the empty worthless words that give birth to iniquity. (Isaiah 59:2-4) Lies do not take into account God or what God desires for man. (Jeremiah 9:3-5) Even the idols man makes for himself are nothing more than lies that are meant to deceive us with empty promises and hollow words. (Jeremiah 10:14) The false prophets are those that are full of false visions, worthless divine words, and deceits of their own minds.  (Jeremiah 14:14; Jeremiah 23:26; Jeremiah 27:10) When we walk in lies we strengthen the hands of evildoers. (Jeremiah 23:14) We are led to believe in the lies, (Jeremiah 28:15) many of those lies spoken in the name of God as if they were from Him and yet this too is nothing more than deceptions meant to lead us to destruction. (Jeremiah 19:23) Lies are meant to dishearten the believer. (Ezekiel 13:19-22) All the lies in the world cannot change the simple truth. (Daniel 11:27) Oftentimes we are led to believe lies because we trust in our own ways rather than the ways of God. (Hosea 10:13) Likewise the lies are often passed down from generation to generation. (Amos 2:4) Wealth often deceives, (Micah 6:12) it is Satan’s native tongue, (John 8:44) in which he asks us to exchange the truth of God for his lies. (Romans 1:25) Lies are part of the old man.  The believer puts off lies since he is of the new man, the circumcised of heart. (Colossians 3:9)
The passage specifies false teachers and so we look at false teachers.  They dress themselves as sheep in order to find a place amongst the believers while inwardly they are wolves seeking to devour. (Matthew 7:15) God is the one that reveals the false teachers for who they are and confirms the true prophets that are from Him. (Isaiah 44:24-28) The false prophets speak of their own authority and not that of God.  They prophecy in God’s name things that are from their own imaginations. (Jeremiah 5:31; Jeremiah 14:14; Jeremiah 27:15) These false prophets have obtained God’s wrath. (Ezekiel 13:9; Micah 3:5) They are deceivers, (Matthew 24:11) they are not just deceivers with words but with signs and wonders as well. (Matthew 24:24; Mark 13:22) We should examine ourselves to see if we are teaching lies and one way we will know is if everyone speaks well of us for this is how the prophets of old were spoken of. (Luke 6:26) We need to test the spirits and prophets to see if they are of God or not.  (I John 4:1-3) We do some by testing to see if they deny that Christ is the Son of God or not. (II Peter 2:1) There should be no reason with the Holy Spirit dwelling within for us to fall to Satan’s deceptions but it requires us to remain ever diligent and aware of God’s truths and in them put all our trust.

Dear Lori,

You're doing a wonderful job of teaching others the ways/ depths of Satan.  Your posts are too long, hon.  I know, because many of my posts have been too long and even PJ didn't initially read some of them.  You would do better to cut your posts in half and I think that you would reach a lot more people.  Reader's don't want to read a long post.  It takes an investment in time.  Shorter posts are welcomed more.  Don't be surprised.  I do the same thing too often, but I've been taking my own advice.

You have Satan's deceitful, lying ways down pat.  Women and men have to be so VERY Careful these days!  Soon, Satan will take a 1,000 year banishment, being locked up in chains and returned to Hell.  Life will then be so beautiful everywhere, whether in Heaven, or on Earth.  Thanks for the hard work, Lori !!

I don't know how you are typing so very many facts about the devil.  There are a lot of Scriptural references for you to have sought out, to include in your posts.  Excellent!!

People, please beware if this applies to you.  Satan will stop at nothing to try to win this Heavenly war, so he doesn't have to be sent to Hell again.  Pray to God often, as needed, and rely on Jesus to carry your burdens.  Be sure to ignore every thing that the devil says.  Harbor no fear, for you are just being inundated by a simple soul who lies to you and tries to frighten you  It will most likely be only a demon trying to scare and upset you with their accusations and irresponsible behavior.  Satan is too busy to address each person singularly.

I hope that the readers here will take extra time to read each of your posts, when they can finally find some time, because they are exceptional protection against vicious words from some weak demon.  God is, by far, stronger than Satan, and He plays with him as a bird.  The Bible tells us that.  We're just being tested like Job.  We are being refined like Silver and being ready to enter Heaven being invulnerable to evil and Satan.

Thanks again, hon!!  I realize how hard you must work to write and examine all of the sentences and paragraphs in each post.  May God Increase Your Countenance And Sustenance!!

Much Love, In Christ's Example For Us,

Michael

Thorn in the Flesh…

II Corinthians 12:1-10 Paul is given a thorn in the flesh.  We have all had a splinter at one time or another in our lives.  There has been a lot of talk over the years about what exactly was the thorn in the flesh that Paul was given, the answer, we simply don’t know what the thorn was but the word picture given by the use of this word is that of a splinter.  It was something irritating that wouldn’t just go away.  It was a constant reminder that something was wrong, that he was not perfect.  The story goes like this.  Paul had been chosen by God for a huge task of sharing Christ with the world.  Now, Paul was human like all of us are and so because of the great task given to him and the success of that task Paul was constantly flirting with his pride.  He wanted to boast that he had been given these wonderful revelations of God and that he was chosen to pass them on to the world.  But scripture tells us that God opposes the proud.  (James 4:6) Now we know that Satan is all about destruction and death. (John 8:44) We must assume then that Satan’s purpose in giving the thorn to Paul was that of destruction.  Satan wanted to use the thorn in the flesh that he gave to Paul to draw Paul away from God and into death.  However, God had a different plan in mind.  Genesis 50:20 says, (HCSB) “You planned evil against me; God planned it for good to bring about the present result--the survival of many people.”  These words were spoken by Joseph in relation to his brothers selling him into slavery and all the things that took place between that betrayal and his being in charge of the grain that would save the lives of many people.  Satan it appears intended evil to come upon Paul when he gave him a thorn in the flesh but God intended that for good and so good prevailed.  (Romans 8:28; II Samuel 16:12; II Corinthians 4:15; II Corinthians 1:6)  God’s plan for Paul overrode Satan’s plan because of the simple lesson that God wanted to teach Paul, that God’s strength was made perfect in Paul’s weakness.
There is no doubt that God’s strength is greater than our own strength.  (I Corinthians 1:25) He reigns in power and gives strength to the humble. (Exodus 15:2; I Chronicles 16:11; Ezra 7:28; Nehemiah 6:9; Job 12:13; Psalms 31:10; Psalms 38:3; Psalms 46:1; Psalms 62:4; Psalms 119:28; Isaiah 33:2; Isaiah 40:32)  It is we who are weak.  The flesh is weak.  Even Christ experiences the weakness of the flesh when He was crucified.  (II Corinthians 13:4)  His strength is made perfect in our weakness but not just our weakness but the humility it takes to confess we are weak without Him.  A confession that even Paul needed to learn and understand. (I Corinthians 1:26-31; I Corinthians 4:7; I Corinthians 13:3; II Corinthians 11:30; Galatians 6:14; Philippians 2:16; Philippians 3:3; James 4:16)  When we humble ourselves enough to confess that we are weak then He is strong in us in ways that will amaze us for even that which Satan wishes to use to harm us is good in the hands of the Living God.

I remain very humble to the Lord God & the Lord Jesus because I love them extremely, and I know that there is no other choice except to obey Them, if you don't want to be separated from Them.  He knows the future of the two witnesses even before they were in the womb, and while they are on Earth.

That is why I share my Testimony with others.  I hope you all don't mind me and I'm doing my best for the Lords.  Will keep on keeping on.

For now.  I have to go and eat.  It has to be made first!  Takes a while.  May He Be With You!

Satan and the devil are not one and the same.

And again the anger of YHWH was kindled against Israel, and he moved David against them to say, Go, number Israel and Judah.
2Sa 24:1

And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel.

When Satan Hinders Our Plans…
In I Thessalonians 2:17-20 we see that Paul desiring to see his brothers and sisters in Thessalonians.  He had this desire because they were dear to his heart and in fact were always in his heart.  He was anxious to be reunited with them but in verse 18 we see that Satan hindered his plans to return to them for a visit.  What we want doesn’t always happen.  Sometimes we make plans and those plans are spoiled.  We can take these setbacks as violations that cause us to be angry with God and sometimes even sin or we can accept this as not beyond God’s will.  Our choice is always whether we allow Satan’s will to win or not.  Daniel also talks about delays in God’s answer because of an angel doing battle with demons which slowed down the message.  (Daniel 10:12-13)  Michael himself, the archangel had a battle with Satan. (Jude 1:9)  There are wars going on that we know nothing about. (Revelation 12:7; Daniel 10:21; Daniel 12:1)
The thing to remember is that if God wills it to happen it will happen.  Everything that happens is according to His will. (Romans 1:9-11; Romans 15:31-32; I Corinthians 1:1; II Corinthians 8:5; Ephesians 1:1; Ephesians 6:6; I Thessalonians 4:3-4; I Thessalonians 5:18; Hebrews 10:36; I Peter 2:15; I Peter 2:19; I Peter 3:17; I Peter 4:1-3; I Peter 4:19; I Peter 5:1-3; I John 2:17; Colossians 1:1; I Timothy 1:1)  Notice in I Thessalonians 2 that Paul did not say that it was God’s will for them to be reunited.  God’s will is an absolute.  His will will always stand even if it is delayed.  Within that will Satan can and sometimes does challenge our plans.  Despite whether or not our plans come to be, we can and should take refuge and rest in knowing that God’s plans will never be thwarted.  (Job 42:2; Daniel 4:35; Isaiah 14:27; Proverbs 19:21)  Satan wants to destroy us but in the hands of God even Satan’s plans can be foiled.  I Timothy 1:20 and I Corinthians 5:5 tell us of incidents in which someone was given over to Satan for the purpose of teaching them that God is God supreme.  Sometimes when we give in to Satan’s schemes we discover how much worse things are when we are separated from God.

Humility is the price of eye salve.

Weakness is not humility.

Humility can only be achieved by somebody who has been humbled by God.

You are adding to the word and portraying pride in the act of humility as if you can add to Jesus' strength.
