The voice of those in authority?
« on: June 20, 2021, 08:22:52 am »
The latest accusation that I was being hostile in explaining why I didn't want to talk about the banning in public forced me to wonder how many people here take this passage to heart.
Matthew 8:9-11
King James Version
9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

10 When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

11 And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.

My husband and I have practiced this acceptance of the authorities over us even when their decision was unjust....it's part of our living out our faith.  Yet I have been accused of arguing the ruling (which I did not) I was accused of being hostile when there is nothing but peace in my heart.  Many times, people accuse others of things they themselves would refuse to accept if it came down on them, so where do you fall on the scale of accepting the authorities God has put over you?  Titus 3:1 Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,

Your attitude toward Tambora (or anyone in authority) on the forums betrays your heart.  You can't seem to distinguish accusations from observations.  When folks observe your bad behavior (hostility) and comment on it, you dismiss what they have seen and try to flip the script to become an accusation in an attempt to make yourself a victim instead of the perpetrator-- which you obviously are.  You make mountains from mole hills and it's nothing more than self-righteous pride that prompts this behavior over and over and over.

Here you start yet another self-justification thread to discuss those things you say you don't want to discuss.  And without a doubt, you will dismiss also these observations of mine and call them accusations.  They are not. If anything you should treat them as guideposts, like signs along the roadways warning of sharp curves or slippery conditions.  But you won't.

So do you take the passage you highlight to heart?  Are you like that soldier under authority?

Now, I wasn't going to say this because every time I do, I get more false accusations...but I do take this type of accusation seriously so since my son was standing here and talking up a storm about his encounters on forums, I asked him if there was any hostility in what I said...he wanted to cuss but I stopped that in his tracks, he said the only way someone could read that as hostile is if they wanted to start something...then we went on to talk about how people often do that when they don't like that they were corrected.  So tell me how two people, one wanting to make a point (you and blade and tambora) and someone who just wanted a discussion (my son) could have such opposing POV when trying to narrow down what is truth and what is not the truth?  Please be careful in answering this question...it will affect how I respond. And just for the record if I am wrong, my son knows I appreciate his honesty in telling me I am wrong, no hesitation on his or my husband's part...it's one way I allow God to correct me and that is something I am passionate about.

This thread is NOT about the previously issues it's about the passage I posted...in fact, though you will not accept it, it was part of a conversation we had with our pastor last night and had nothing at all to do with what is going on in the forum...but no matter what I say you and others with paint me with whatever brush you want to because in written communications and forum discussions that is the rule not the exception...and yes I know you will not accept that, dare I say because you refuse to look at yourself with sober judgment?  or would that be too harsh?

absolutely...that was my point...I never once challenged the rulings that came down over the issues I was having in that other forum...nor any of the times the church abused us and our kids (yes witness to all out abuse for preaching the gospel and nothing else)  and I could go on and on...if I had challenged the rulings you would have grounds here, but never once did I challenge the rulings, I did ask questions, like what are the rules...not how are the rules applied...

now, do you want to go all out with me too, like Tambora said when I told her I would wait for PJ since she wasn't answering my question and then she started name calling?  Or do you want to have a civil discussion that will show you wrong?

At this point Lori, I'm not sure that you are capable of having a civil discussion even if you were just talking to yourself.

It's simple.  If you had just dropped it when Tam asked you to, that would have been the end of it.

-but you wouldn't and you just kept insisting and repeating and descending further into ridiculousness.  End of story.

Hello, Mr E.

When it comes to civil conversation, you feel the same way about me too.
