this too is what I have come to understand.  We can know what God wants for us, it's in the Bible.  So why when we pray do we so often simply speak of the things we want rather than the things God wants.

One example I gave not long ago is how all the miracles in Jesus ministry were for the purpose of revelation.  So why when we pray for healing do we fail to pray for revelation of God's purpose and will in relation to that?  Another example I recently spoke about was a brother friend who was struggling with something, so we prayed that the situation would be as God wanted it and that the man would have peace.  Sure enough, the God of peace worked out the situation and gave the man peace.

I don't think it is wrong to pray for and about what we want but I also think that a prayer of Love includes with it the growing and maturing and wonders of what God Himself says He wants for us.
