Crucifying self....
« on: December 27, 2019, 12:35:59 pm »
Galatians 2:20 20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

What do you think this verse means? Is saying?

How can we be crucified with Christ?

What does this mean about our salvation?  that is to say, is salvation a radical change, a convinced only by our own wills, etc.

'In the words of another '1

Do you believe that GOD is sovereign in Salvation????? (the right answer is YES)

Do you believe that GOD Predestined those He chooses????? (the right answer is YES)

DO you believe that  Man has the responsibility to reach out/believe to/in Jesus?????   (the right answer is YES)

Do you believe GOD takes no pleasure in the judgement and death of the wicked????? (the right answer is YES)

Do you believe that Man is responsible if Man does not come to everlasting life????? (the right answer is YES)

Do you believe that Who so ever  believes will be saved?????(the right answer is YES)

Do you believe that Jesus Wept for the wicked?????(the right answer is YES)

Do you believe man should persist in his faith until Jesus returns????? (the right answer is YES)

All of the ABOVE is what the Bible says.....

THEN How can you resolve/Harmonize these seemingly paradoxes????
The right asnswer?????We cannot for we do not know as we have not been told in the Bible.

If you think you know how GOD thinks, what He knows then you are placing Man's sovereignty over that of GOD's sovereignty

My answer is I don't know and don't even worry about what I cannot fix or change as I will not add, remove, change, delete what scripture says

*******

Who wrote Romans???????The right answer is I do not Know?

WHY????All of Paul, all of his words, all His punctuation, all his thoughts, all of GOD???????

YET, Paul does not seem to be mechanical in our Bibles does He????

*****
Here are a few personal questions?????

Is GOD responsible for your Christian life today???Your going to blame HIM for your Christian life?  REALLY

Are You responsible for your Christian life today?????Are you sure, Really

These are hard questions to answer and it is pretty much what Paul stated in the Galatians 2:20 (KJV) for He had the same problem...He could not answer it either.

.."I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I,..."

In these words of Paul,,,,He did not know either?????

"but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."

NO doubt this is a divine mystery...as Paul states, its all of me and all of Him and all that is wrong is me and all that is right is HIM.

The Bible tells us that we are kept secure in HIS hands yet we are commanded to perserver in faith.....How do you resolve this paradox

The answer:   YOU DO NOT for only GOD  KNOWS!!!!!

There are many more seemingly paradoxes in the Bible.... One for each Doctrine the Bible gives us.....Do we resolve them----NO!  or LET GOD resolve them.....YES!

sorry Blade but I don't see a paradox  To me it's pretty straight forward stuff but maybe that is because I understand salvation different than you do or maybe it is because the HS has been teaching me longer, or maybe it is just something different.  To me the paradox is why you think these things are paradoxes...

The works of the flesh are evident
sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these....The desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions—is not from the Father but is from the world....those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— ... Ephesians 2:1-22

If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. ... Colossians 3:1-10

For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. Romans 8:5-8

Heb. 2:17 For this reason He had to be made like His brothers in every way, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, in order to make atonement for the sins of the people.

Heb. 4:15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who was tempted in every way that we are, yet was without sin.

Because He Himself suffered when He was tempted, He is able to help those who are being tempted. Heb. 2:18

Such a high priest truly befits us--One who is holy, innocent, undefiled, set apart from sinners, and exalted above the heavens. Heb. 7:26

Eph. 3:12 In Him and through faith in Him we may enter God's presence with boldness and confidence.

Heb. 4:16 Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
