MANY scholars have developed many different ways to get at the most likely Birthday of Jesus Christ, none of them appear to be reliable as to the actual date.

God did not tell us the actual date Jesus' Birth for a reason, nor did He tell us the year Jesus was Born. Yet, He left enough information (geneologies of the players) behind in the Bible that gives us a pretty reliable date for the year. Another bible study to be sure.

We know that Jesus was born before October as the shepherds still had their flocks in OPEN fields. That is about all we know for sure. We know that a large amount of time had already passed when King Herod sent His soldiers to Bethlehem to KILL males children from 2 years old -> down. Of course, Jesus was already in Egypt by this time.

The December 25th birthday was sanctioned by the Church Fathers in 440AD. It was actually a Roman (Pagan) holiday named Saturnalia. As was most pagan Holidays, they were on or close to the summer and/or winter solstice.
