Title: What do you say?
Post by: guest24 on June 16, 2020, 09:41:39 am
The world is a hurting place, people are going through all different kinds of struggles and battles.  Some of these struggles are so great that we can't even imagine what they are going through.  God's Love and His command to Love is at least in part to ease or share in the sufferings of others.  Based on your theology that you argue for here on the forum, what would you tell the hurting that would bring them comfort, strength, aid in their time of need?

Rather quickly, because in life sometimes we must be ready in an instant to speak of God and Christ in us. It may take quite some time upon meeting someone depending on many circumstances, such as location, the surroundings, the situation at hand, is this a man, woman, child injured person, starving, in need of many things etc.

Eventually, when the time was right I would begin to speak about God's love and will for our lives and that this world is but a temporary existence. Then of course, the entire conversation would be directed by how much they already know of Jesus and exactly what their beliefs and views are in life. I will be thinking much more about this and I know that in the moment God will give the increase and help me to say the right words. Excellent thread Lori.

When I first contemplated the question, my answer was very similar to yours, as I thought further, I decided that no matter who or what we were talking about, all of Christ and the hope we have in Him boils down to Love and showing everyone, no matter the situation that Love of Christ which restores and reconciles and gives worth no matter the situation...nice answer, thanks
