Title: A KINGDOM OF PRIESTS
Post by: doug on June 12, 2020, 02:36:29 pm
Exodus 19:4 Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself.

19:5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:

19:6 And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.

This is the first mention of the promised kingdom. It can be seen from Revelation 5:10 that it is an earthly kingdom. It is evident that it can only be an earthly kingdom, as it will be a "holy nation".

19:8 And all the people answered together, and said, All that the LORD hath spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people unto the LORD.

The kingdom promise was based upon obeying and keeping the covenant. Israel said they would keep that covenant. It will be found that they could not keep the covenant.

19:10 And the LORD said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and sanctify them to day and to morrow, and let them wash their clothes,

Here is the washing of clothes unto sanctification. Here is the first of the diverse washings for Israel to cleanse their unrighteousness before the Lord.

Yet, Israel cannot be both Priest and Kings as you are saying. They are forbidden...Only three in the Bible are Kings and Priest. Melchizedek, Jesus Christ and the Body of Christ.
