Title: THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS AT HAND
Post by: doug on March 31, 2020, 12:26:45 pm
Mark 1:14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,

Mark 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Jesus said the time is fulfilled. Jesus did not say the time will be fulfilled.

Has Christ established his kingdom in heaven? Obviously not, we are still on earth.

Has Christ established his kingdom on earth? Obviously not, Christ is not ruling in Jerusalem (Isaiah 2:2-3 Luke 1:32-33).

Jesus was offering the kingdom to Israel, but they rejected him (John 1:11-12). The gospel of the kingdom of God, was at that time at hand, if Israel believed the gospel. This was not the gospel that we are to believe, it was not the cross, it was not the gospel that Christ died for our sins and rose for our justification unto eternal life (Romans 4:25).

The offer of the kingdom was withdrawn until a later time (Romans 11:25-27), and was interrupted by this dispensation of grace (Ephesians 3:2).

Yes, Doug...it was another dispensation. apart from the Law of Moses and the dispensation of Grace.... Also until Jesus actually died, the OT was still the testament in force...only after the death of a testator would another testament be enforced.

I have a difference with Mid-Acts Doug which looks like a hairline but turns out to be a chasm.
I think salvation by grace through faith [not our own] has always been God's way, Paul uses Abe to illustrate it. The Kingdom of Heaven for Abe and his seed was put on hold but only until the new covenant was put in place.

When Jesus died the graves were opened and the saints of old came forth, the thief on the cross was that day in paradise. We will sit at table with Abe, Ike and Jake in the Kingdom, in other words they share the Heavenly call, but they had to wait. Those old saints will not inherit the earth.

It is ETHNIC Israel, the SEED of Abe who are now the nation of Israel, they will have the earthly inheritance, I can see you believe they are to be saved.

So there is spiritual Israel and natural Israel. I agree we are in a parenthesis.

God said two things to Abe He said "look at the stars" .... innumerable and He said "look at the sand of the seashore" ....innumerable

The spiritual or heavenly and the natural or earthy.

Thank you for work.
