Title: Are we using everything the HS is offering us?
Post by: guest24 on March 10, 2020, 09:18:36 am
Who knows righteousness better than the one who is righteous?  God alone is truly righteous and thus yielding to the Living God is an act or training in righteousness.  In I Corinthians we see that the early apostles committed themselves to the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit taught Paul and the other apostles when they allowed Him to.  In addition, He reminded them of all the things that Jesus had told them.  (John 14:26)  Jesus' very commands were given by the authority of the Holy Spirit that He commanded Himself to. (Matthew 28:19)  We are to not only yield to the Holy Spirit, but to teach others to observe everything that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit commanded. (Matthew 28:16-20; Acts 1:2)
There is more to the Holy Spirit’s teaching than simply giving commands that are to be followed.  The Holy Spirit will also teach us what to say. (Mark 13:11; Luke 12:12; II Peter 1:21)  It is the Holy Spirit that gives the ability of true prophecy.  (Luke 1:67)  The Holy Spirit that testifies to what is to come. (Luke 2:25-26; Acts 20:23)  The Holy Spirit also leads. (Luke 4:1) We can rejoice in the Holy Spirit. (Luke 10:21) The Holy Spirit gives us good gifts to those who ask. (Luke 11:13)  It is in the power of the Holy Spirit that we can be witnesses to the world  of who the Living God is. (Acts 1:8; Acts 4:31)  Of course it was the power of the Holy Spirit that gave the people different languages at pentecost.  Giving the Holy Spirit power over even our language when we submit ourselves to Him.  (Acts 2:4; Acts 19:6)
The Holy Spirit is given to all who repent and are baptized, (Acts 2:38) to those who obey, (Acts 5:32) and through prayer and the laying on of hands. (Acts 8:15-17)   We can resist the Holy Spirit, grieving the Holy Spirit. (Acts 7:51; Ephesians 4:30) The Holy Spirit can give us the ability to see beyond this world. (Acts 7:55)  The Holy Spirit gives sight (Acts 9:17; Acts 10:38) He builds us up, and encourages those who fear the Lord. (Acts 9:31; Acts 11:24) It is the Holy Spirit that makes our burdens light. (Acts 15:28)
It is the Holy Spirit that calls people and it is people who accept those that God calls. (Acts 20:28) It is the Holy Spirit that pours God’s Love into our lives. (Romans 5:5) The Holy Spirit that testifies to the truths of God. (Romans 9:1; Hebrews 10:15) The Kingdom of God consists of righteousness, joy, peace, and the Holy Spirit. (Romans 14:17)  He is the overflowing hope and joy and peace that the believer lives in. (Romans 15:13)  Our sacrifice to God is sanctified by the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:16) Our very bodies are the sanctuary for the Holy Spirit. (I Corinthians 6:19) The Holy Spirit also offers a test for who is and who is not His. (I Corinthians 12:3) We can live in fellowship with the Holy Spirit. (II Corinthians 13:13) He is our seal, our promise of salvation. (Ephesians 1:13; Ephesians 3:5; I Thessalonians 1:5) God has given us the gift of the Holy Spirit. (I Thessalonians 4:8) and the Holy Spirit is the guard for the good things that we are instructed to live in.  (II Timothy 1:14) It is the Holy Spirit that washes, regenerates, and renews us. (Titus 13:5) He gives us gifts to use in ministry. (Hebrews 2:4) making us companions with the Holy Spirit. (Hebrews 6:4) Even in prayer, the Holy Spirit is our strength and the words are too deep for us to say. (Jude 1:20)  It is no wonder with all the ways the Holy Spirit works in our lives, strengthening, empowering, equipping us that training in righteousness requires us to submit ourselves to the Holy Spirit.

as I listened to this video I kept hearing and seeing all the men over the years that have told me that women should NOT study scripture, to leave that to the men so that they (the men) can teach...where is the Love in asking a woman to die because of lack of knowledge?  Well that is my rant for the day...thanks for the video.
