Title: Paradoxes of Calvinism vs. Armenianism: Comments
Post by: guest8 on January 01, 2020, 08:47:00 pm
Throughout the Doctrines of the Bible, there appear to be Paradoxes. The definition of a paradox is: "1. : a tenet (": a principle, belief, or doctrine generally held to be true")... contrary to received opinion.  2. : a statement that is seemingly contradictory or opposed to common sense and yet is perhaps true"

The Bible tells us in Rom 8:29-30 that GOD elected (predestined) those He foreknew to Justification and Glorification....

Yet
in the same Bible, the same testament, He also tells us in John 3:16 that whosoever believeth in Jesus Christ shall be saved.

How does one resolve or do you resolve a paradox.

'In the words of another ' 1

Do you believe that GOD is sovereign in Salvation????? (the right answer is YES)

Do you believe that GOD Predestined those He chooses????? (the right answer is YES)

DO you believe that  Man has the responsibility to reach out/believe to/in Jesus?????   (the right answer is YES)

Do you believe GOD takes no pleasure in the judgement and death of the wicked????? (the right answer is YES)

Do you believe that Man is responsible if Man does not come to everlasting life????? (the right answer is YES)

Do you believe that Who so ever  believes will be saved?????(the right answer is YES)

Do you believe that Jesus Wept for the wicked?????(the right answer is YES)

Do you believe man should persist in his faith until Jesus returns????? (the right answer is YES)

All of the ABOVE is what the Bible says.....

THEN How can you resolve/Harmonize these seemingly paradoxes????
The right answer?????We cannot for we do not know as we have not been told in the Bible.

If you think you know how GOD thinks, what He knows then you are placing Man's sovereignty over that of GOD's sovereignty

My answer is I don't know and don't even worry about what I cannot fix or change as I will not add, remove, change, delete what scripture says

*******

Who wrote Romans?????The right answer is I do not Know?

WHY?????All of Paul, all of his words, all His punctuation, all his thoughts, all of GOD?????

YET, Paul does not seem to be mechanical in our Bibles does He?????

*****
Here are a few personal questions?????

Is GOD responsible for your Christian life today?????Your going to blame HIM for your Christian life?  REALLY

Are You responsible for your Christian life today?????Are you sure, Really

These are hard questions to answer and it is pretty much what Paul stated in the Galatians 2:20 (KJV) for He had the same problem...He could not answer it either.

.."I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I,..."

In these words of Paul,,,,He did not know either?????

"but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."

NO doubt this is a divine mystery...as Paul states, its all of me and all of Him and all that is wrong is me and all that is right is HIM.

The Bible tells us that we are kept secure in HIS hands yet we are commanded to preserver in faith.....How do you resolve this paradox

The answer:   YOU DO NOT for only GOD  KNOWS!!!!!

There are many more seemingly paradoxes in the Bible.... One for each Doctrine the Bible gives us.....Do we resolve them----NO!  or LET GOD resolve them.....YES!

I agree with you 100% and when I began to realize these things I stopped debating people.
