Title: Radical Love/Giving...
Post by: guest24 on February 19, 2019, 08:55:39 am
Mark 12:31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

Love our neighbor as we love ourselves....I have heard people try to argue that we don't always Love ourselves and to a degree maybe they are right, but what happens when we understand how to Love others as we Love ourselves with this passage....II Corinthians 8:14 But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality:

Yes, plenty of people don't behave as if they love themselves so how can they express love for others? Deep down though, we all enjoy being loved and cared for, listened to and heard. We all need help at different times in many different ways and at the core of every person we desire love and compassion and relationships. So if we can tune in to that love and desire that we have for ourselves, that's the love we give to others. Like that Beatles song : The love you take is equal to the love you make. So we have to be able to allow others to love us as well. We are also told to bear each others burdens.

I am a very reactionary person, meaning I tend to mirror the vibe I pick up from a person or a situation. I have a gift of being able to talk to anybody about anything so that helps. If a conversation goes past hello or names are exchanged I will bring up Jesus Christ fairly early when I get the chance. I have the most trouble showing my love for family. Someone can SAY that they love you but it's only with words. Deeds and actions show real love towards another.

I hesitate to share this story because of how some might twist it...but I have a friend who was going through something tough.  I would send her a blessing and a verse now and then.  One day she told me that they really helped and would love to have one everyday to help her focus on God and not on her problem.  So for literally months and months, every day I would pray that God would give me a verse and a blessing to share with her....Love among other things, sticks by us for as long as it is needed.  We all too often give up on people who struggle for a long time with something when in stead we should endure just as we endure our own faults and difficulties wishing people would understand that we have no yet escaped whatever the struggle and if we could we would have shed it by now.

Thank you for sharing your experiences. It seems today, there are very few people who take the time to share their love for others as you did. Part of it is caused by society and the ever faster pace of life one has to follow to keep up.  Another part is the Apostasy, foretold in the Bible, which is removing the virtues of Christianity from the earth little by little.

Again, thank you for sharing.
