Title: Social justice warriors and scripture?
Post by: guest24 on March 16, 2021, 07:30:07 am
The social justice warrior is always on the lookout for some injustice to fight. This sounds noble and biblical on the surface, especially when we consider that we are commanded in scripture to be just.  But what I have noticed is a trend in the social justice league to blame God for things they presume are unjust rather than focus on what they themselves can do to fix the things that God Himself says are unjust.  IOWs their idea of injustice is different than God's and in that, they ignore the unjust things they are responsible for in exchange for accusing God of injustice...what are your observations?  How do you think social justice fits into the commands of scripture?

I'm not sure if you are referring to BLM but that's what comes to mind.

There's a lot I could say about this but I want to focus first on the golden rule. The Golden Rule is the ethical principle of treating other people as one's self would prefer to be treated. One of Jesus' most famous and impactful teachings, the Golden Rule can be found in the Bible verses Matthew 7:12 and Luke 6:31: “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.”

Also love for neighbor. Matthew 22:37-40 37Jesus replied: "'Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

James 3:13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good conduct, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. 14 But if you harbor bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast in it or deny the truth. 15 Such wisdom does not come from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. 16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every evil practice. 17 But the wisdom from above is first of all pure, then peace-loving, gentle, accommodating, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial, and sincere. 18 Peacemakers who sow in peace reap the fruit of righteousness.

If the social justice warriors would take those scriptures to heart and apply them to their lives then their cause(s) would be much more effective and there would be much less division, hate, chaos, revenge, destruction, violence and death. It's clear to me that this is a spiritual problem.

I've been deeply troubled seeing SJWs burning bibles. That seems to indicate a disdain for God and Christians. Also defacing, looting and burning businesses, and even churches. More troubling still, many Christians support and defend the criminal activities of SJWs and their allies, if that's what you want to call them. If nothing else, I would expect SJWs to at least have basic human compassion even if they aren't Christian. But I don't even see that.

They have gone off the deep end of the pool.
