Title: Let's bring politics into our scripture
Post by: guest24 on November 10, 2020, 07:41:17 am
With no shortage of discussion about politics right now, I thought it might be a good idea to bring politics into scripture...II Chronicles 7:14 14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Are we as a people humbled yet or are we still so determined that we can "save" this country that we have not yet throne ourselves at the foot of Christ?

The sad thing is both sides believe they are right and they are the way to saving a country and a people.  People are saved by belief and their salvation not by Trump, not by Biden, or red or blue.  The country can not be "saved" or healed until the people themselves are.

This is going to be a long long time in coming as the hatred and divisiveness towards each other has replaced Jesus and God in so many people's life.

Thank you for posting that scripture.  We all need a starting point for the journey back.

Ps. 146:3 Do not trust a prince or upon a son of man, for there is no salvation in his hand.

I've seen a few people talking about how we need to pray for the country and the leader but I haven't seen anyone talk about our need to humble ourselves.  It begins with humility before the true King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  Personally, I have been praying for revival (true revival) from all of the unrest we are seeing in this country.
