January 31, 2019, 12:49:30 pm says: So glad you are safe and warm now.
January 31, 2019, 11:34:30 am says: Good afternoon...Lori, I can certainly understand about the electricity being out when it's so cold. That's rough. In the house where I lived before moving here, the electricity was out for about four or five days at least and I was just freezing. I bundled up as much as I could, used candles, went to a little restaurant up the road where I was allowed to charge my phone. I remember there was this little boy outside the restaurant who was selling candles and he actually gave me some candles for free which I needed. His kindness really touched my heart in a big way. I also piled blankets on me trying to keep warm. Finally the electricity was turned back on. There were so many power lines down from trees that had fallen on them so it took awhile for the workers to get that taken of. That house was hard to keep warm anyway even with electricity. And when it snowed one time the trees surrounding the house, especially the limbs became covered with snow and weighed down and fell onto the roof of the house. That resulted in causing the ceilings in the bathroom and the other bedroom to fall through. I remember that I was up like 3am in the morning and I didn't even know that it was snowing but I heard things hitting the roof and I wasn't about to go outside to see what was happening because I lived pretty much alone on that road and I didn't feel safe going outside that time of the morning. But the next day I went out and saw that it had snowed. I was on a waiting list to get into this apartment and meanwhile the ceilings had fallen down and of course the landlord had no intention of doing anything about that. He just didn't care. So I was blessed to get this apartment that has a very good heater and my apartment stays warm and I even have to turn the heat back sometimes. The electricity has only gone off once here and it was only for about an hour. So my heart goes out to others who aren't warm enough. I know what that's like.
January 31, 2019, 09:14:19 am says: TJ keep us posted about the cats....we had a rabbit out in the yard this AM our son tried to get him for a dinner this week but missed.
January 31, 2019, 09:13:23 am says: Well, our adventure in the cold continues.  Last freezing night, the electricity went out.  By the time we found something to use that didn't take electricity, the house was down to 44 degrees.  When I got up, we were at a balmy 57 in the house.  Looking forward to the warm up and thankful the electricity is back on.  Stay warm.  May we see the beauty of God in our every struggle and know that He is close and sharing with us of His great and wonderful bounty.
January 31, 2019, 09:10:37 am says: Good morning...hope all goes well with the cats.  God designed creatures to survive this kind of weather better than we think, so between His provision and your assistance I am trusting they will be fine.
January 31, 2019, 08:20:03 am patrick jane says: Baby it's cold outside !!!
January 31, 2019, 08:18:40 am says: :( It’s cold.
January 30, 2019, 10:05:12 pm patrick jane says: Awww, I hope they go in it and get out of the wind. Be careful out there !!!
January 30, 2019, 10:00:39 pm says: I made a waterproof box and put something inside, one of my old sweaters. And I think I found a place to put it but I'll need help and I know someone here who might can help me. There's a crosswalk that has a space under it but it's up a hill and I'm not as nimble as I once was but this other lady is. And I know she feeds the cats sometimes too. And nobody would be able to see the box in this spot. I'm going to talk to her about it maybe tomorrow.
January 30, 2019, 08:30:22 pm patrick jane says: Yes, I've done that for stray cats also. So sweet tj.  :'(
January 30, 2019, 08:28:28 pm says: Thanks Lori and stay well and healthy too....I only went out for a few minutes. I mostly stay inside. There's a stray cat that I go out to feed. I would take her in but I'm only allowed one pet and I already have a cat. Actually there are two stray cats outside but only one will come up to me. I try to leave some food for them both. I hope they're going to be okay when it gets really cold. I was trying to figure out a way to put something outside for them to go into without getting into trouble with the manager here. Maybe I could hide something in the bushes for them to go into. I'll have to try to figure out what I can put there for them that would help keep them warm and make sure its hidden.
January 30, 2019, 01:24:16 pm says: Stay warm and healthy tj...I refuse to go out in the cold because it is brutal on my asthma but my immune system is in overdrive so that part I don't worry about.  Our youngest is 19 and since I was pregnant with him, I have had one mild cold.  Nothing else that is contagious.  Praying everyone stays warm and healthy
January 30, 2019, 01:04:44 pm says: Good afternoon...It's 44 degrees here. I just went outside and it was hard to open the door against the wind. So it's windy and cold but the temperatures are going to be dropping more through the rest of January and February is usually the coldest month here. But I bundle up several layers. People here say I look like an eskimo.  :D But my immune system is low so I have to be careful and make sure I'm dressed warm...And there are some people here who are sick but I wear my gloves when I touch door handles and such. ...Anyway hope everyone is well and warm. Have a blessed day everybody.
January 30, 2019, 01:00:29 pm patrick jane says: Absolutely thank God for our shelter and warmth. I know your son is warm up there too and I just feel so sorry for those that must live outside and work outside. I feel for the poor little animals as well.   ???

January 30, 2019, 12:44:08 pm patrick jane says: Beautiful Lori, that's great. Maybe in a few days the temps will rise finally. You all are in my prayers !!!
January 30, 2019, 09:16:20 am says: Good morning everyone...we are in the deep freeze here, -4 wind chill -33 today but praising the Lord that we aren't seeing our breath in the house....in our previous house we would see our breath till at least afternoon, then God gave us this miracle house and where we are cold right now, we are so blessed with warmth that I can't help but Praise His Holy Name!
January 30, 2019, 09:06:13 am patrick jane says: Hump Day - This year is almost over !!!
