Dogs Love Playing with Squirrel Sibling Rescued From Hurricane | The Dodo Odd Couples

Squirrel Rescued From Hurricane Grows Up Playing With His Dog Siblings | When Zach the squirrel was rescued in the middle of a hurricane, he was so tiny and delicate — but his two dog siblings helped him grow up to be a rowdy boy. Today on Odd Couples, watch how Zach chased his favorite dogs around the house nonstop until they couldn't keep up with him anymore ... but then their dad brought home a puppy who's exactly Zach's speed. You can keep up with Zach and all of his adventures on Instagram, zach_the_squirrel: https://thedo.do/zach.

I have a cat that I've had since she was about six weeks old. She was from a stray cat and was the runt of the litter and was sickly. So I took her to the vet and he gave her shots and meds. She's a healthy big cat now and beautiful. She's shaggy and has orange colored hair. Her name is Jasmine.  :) She was my therapy pet during treatment too.

That is so sweet tj. We had a stray kitten that stayed in our fenced backyard all day but we didn't know until nightfall and she ran in the house with dogs when they came back from going potty !!! She was so little and scrawny but she wasn't scared of people or the dogs. No clue where she came from but we put up signs for two weeks looking for the owner.

Her name is Gretchen, after my Grandma, and she's three now an orange tabby, lol. I'm glad your Jasmine turned out big and healthy. I have a Calico named Lucy with two black eyes !!! She is so sweet. If I ever had the money I would have a big property and care for any and all animals and pay good vets to work with me, plus I would go to veterinary college.

We have three outside cats that we keep for hunting.
Three inside cats our youngest has promised to take with him when he moves out...he better.
A Bernese Mountain Dog...such a lover, sort of a rescue.

Over the years, our eldest who is an animal fanatic has talked us into a variety of cats and dogs as well as....anols, a tree frog, a couple of different lizards, a iguana, two chinchillas as well as two sets of chinchilla twins, many fish, and anything I might be forgetting.

When I was a young child we lived in Eastern Nigeria and we a pet monkey. My older brother named him Congress which we now both find to be funny and prophetic. Our Labrador mix dog would let the monkey ride around on his back. We also had many pet chameleons which were fascinating to watch.

So, I like finding God in every situation so let me share with you a story that shows us the importance of listening to God.

When I was growing up, I was allowed (miracle) to keep a pup.  He was half collie and half who knows and was mine from before he could open his eyes.  I was so thrilled with the pup that I spent all the time I could with him.  I would sit out on the hill in front of the barn and cross my legs, set the pup in front of me as far as I could reach then call him.  He couldn't see yet but he would follow my voice to the warmth of my waiting affections.  Time and time and time again I would do this.  The pup grew into a dog and that dog would come when he heard me call no matter what he was doing.  He had learned the sound of my voice by coming every time I called even when he couldn't see me.  This is how we learn the sound of God's voice.  We come when we hear Him even if we can't see Him.

Well, one day, my dog got loose.  We lives on a state highway and so this was a dangerous thing if he wasn't trekking the woods with me.  I called and called but he didn't come. I was heartbroken.  All day long I called and he did not come.  All evening I called and he did not come.  By morning I figured I would call one last time and if he didn't come I would know for sure that something bad had happened to him.  So I went out and called....nothing.  I called again and heard a faint whimper.  I called and listened again...again a faint whimper.  As it so happened, I went across the road to the swamp area and found the dog with his chain caught on a log.  He knew he would be in trouble for going across the road and yet he also knew that I was calling and he needed to get back to me.  So many times we do this to God.  We know we need him but we also know that we did wrong.

May we today not only hear His voice and answer but may we always come running when He calls even if we know we did wrong...for there, we will find the full scope of a Love that will not end.

Just thought if we were sharing pet stories I would share that with you all.

Since I've been saved and even before that there are always periods of time where I feel far away from God. I know it's me and not God, it's my heart and mind that is far away and God is always right here with me. I'm going through one of those periods now of feeling far away after feeling so close to God for most of 2018. Tomorrow is the one year date of my aunt Joelle passing away. Maybe that is affecting me. I know I'm getting away from God when I stop posting scripture. Good story Lori.

I can't believe I forgot to tell one of my favorite pet stories....we had several different rabbits.  One the neighbor said the rabbit asked her to let him out which is how he disappeared, one that was a retired magic rabbit...and one that was a beautiful brown flemish giant that was litter trained.  At night we would cage him to make sure he stayed safe but when we were there, he had run of the house.  One Easter morning, our older children got up before their baby brother, opened the cage, letting Cadbury  (yes that was his name) out of the cage then tried to convince their baby brother that the rabbit was the real Easter bunny....lol what a great day that was!

That's great, lol. Listen to this one. My uncle has a down syndrome son named Chris and when he was about 8 they and the family went to the Zoo. They looked at all the animals and made all the stops, the ape house, the reptile house, the big cats and the bears and the penguins etc. They  spent the day there and when they got home Chris wanted to go to his room and was acting strange. They walked in a few minutes later to see a small penguin on the fllor standing there, Hah !!! Chris tucked the penguin in his backpack and took it home. When they called the Zoo the Zoo hung up on them thinking it was a prank call !!! They finally came and picked him up and the penguin was OK.

that is awesome...I could see our eldest doing something like that.  When he was in Afghanistan he was talking about finding a beautiful big scorpion...he picked it up and was playing with it while all his buddies were freaking out.  Our daughter is obsessed with spiders but is scared to death of ants...haha...I can't wait to share your story with Brian, he will love it.
