I have Medicare now but I pay about $140 a month for it. Folks, we need Potassium in all three forms and it's hard to fin in supplements. I have an excellent video that goes into great detail about potassium and other medical information that predates the Rockefeller takeover of World Medicine and education. I will post the video in this thread later.

TJ, I'm so sorry for what you've been through with doctors. You would think that good quality medical care is the standard at every medical facility and office in the nation. Undiagnosed and misdiagnosed problems kill people or shorten our lives.

It happens more often than people are aware of especially if a person doesn't have insurance, Medicaid, Medicare and can't pay out of pocket. Also, I've noticed that many doctors don't take women as seriously as they do men. It's almost like they think of women as a different species or something.

Another example, many years ago I was having chest pains so I went to a local ER. The doctor asked me if I was pregnant and having heartburn. Like I can't tell the difference between real chest pains and heartburn. That was insulting. I told the doctor that I can't get pregnant because I had my tubes tied. He said that there was still a chance that I could be pregnant. I wasn't pregnant. And by the way, a woman knows when she's pregnant especially after having three children and I certainly know the difference between heartburn and real chest pains. He basically dismissed me and sent me home. No tests or anything.

I could tell so many stories about how "stupid" drs have been with me.  When I was pregnant with our 3rd, the Dr. said, "yes you are pregnant", the next appointment, "no you are not pregnant" the next appointment "yes you are pregnant", etc. till it was painfully obvious and a few months later I had a baby in my arms.

I was working 40-48 hrs and going to school 19-20 semester hrs. and was getting sick.  I  was not eating or sleeping I went to the Dr. and he said, you are fat and lazy do more and eat less.  I ignored the do more since it was a physically demanding job and I didn't have time to add anything new to my life and said to him, "I literally eat 2 to 3 bites of food a week, how do you want me to cut back on what I eat?" he said, "when you do eat, eat less."  lol went to another Dr. he diagnosed me as borderline anorexic and told me to force myself to eat which worked.

Another time, I went to the Dr. I told them things were getting worse on the meds they gave me.  They called me a liar until things got seriously dangerous as in could die from it and even the ER said so, and the Dr. just called me a liar and insisted I continue treatment as ordered by him.

One more story then I am done so I don't allow it to get me angry...I was pregnant with our first, had a terrible rash that itched me to death.  Dr. gave me a prescription, when I read the warnings it said to NEVER take if pregnant, so I asked the Dr. about it...he responded, "Don't question me, I am the Dr."

Oh and don't forget the Dr. who told me to be quiet, that I was "too ignorant to know my own symptoms" and when my husband tried to talk to him, he told my husband that he was "too ignorant to know my symptoms", that we needed to be quiet so he could tell me what my symptoms were (first visit with that Dr.) and what he was going to do to fix it....how is that for good medical care?  and that is just a few of the examples from my own life.  I don't trust them and don't foresee any time I will.

A doctor who can't determine and make up his mind about whether a woman is pregnant or not. Yeah, that's a stupid doctor.

This reminds me of when I went to the hospital in labor with my third child. I had already signed papers beforehand to get my tubes tied. It was something that I felt that I needed to do for some reason. It was just a feeling I had.

I got to the hospital early that morning. After having two children, I knew something was wrong. All through the pregnancy I was told everything was fine and then I was told that the baby was in position, nothing to worry about. But something was wrong. I told the doctor and the nurses that something was wrong and that I would need a C-section. They wouldn't listen to me. They said, every pregnancy is different. There's nothing wrong. This is normal. The doctor said, "what makes you think that you need a C-section? You don't want that because it's major surgery". I said, "Because I know. It's not exactly what I want. But that's what will have to be done". Of course you know, he's the doctor, he has the degree, so he dismissed what I said. So I'm laying there for hours and hours. Things got worse. The contractions would stop and then start again, off and on. I was just miserable and in horrible pain. Finally much later in the day, almost night, they called in a doctor from another city so I had to wait for him to get there. He walked over to me and checked me and snapped at the nurses, "Get her prepped for surgery right now. Her cervix is closing and the baby is in distress. You let her lay here all day like this"? He was barking out orders like a drill sergeant. I was so thankful that finally a doctor was there who knew what he was doing and listened to me.

So I was given an epidural and taken to the delivery room. At first I was having dry heaves. The doctor was trying to help me relax. He asked me who my favorite news commentator was and I said Walter Cronkite.  :D I guess I was a little light headed. He asked, "Have you ever been to Savannah"? I said, "No". He said, "You should visit there someday. You might like it". I asked, "Is that where you're from"? He smiled and said, "Yes". He walked over to a table and picked up some papers. He said, "I see you've signed papers to have your tubes tied. You're still young. Are you sure you want to do that"? I was in my mid to late twenties. I said, "Yes, I'm sure". He said, "what if you remarry and your husband wants children"? I said, "I won't be getting remarried". He said, "How do you know"? I said, "I just know" and I smiled. And I never remarried even after my husband passed.
So anyway, soon I was holding my baby, my second son. I told him when he was a teenager, "you were hardheaded even before you were born. You had to be forced out. "  :D I remember that doctor's name. He was such a good doctor. The kind of doctor that is few and far between.

I can understand all too well. I've had many bad experiences with doctors and hospital staff. My first mammogram resulted in injury and I had to have surgery. I also had an overdose of radiation by a CT scan. Nobody ever believed me but that did happen and I suffered a lot from it. I believe it was done on purpose. But that's a different story....that I won't go into.

I love it when there is a good Dr. in a story because they are few and far between as best I can tell.

Unfortunately the one issue I had with Dr. not listening was confirmed by another Dr. to be the cause of some of my chronic issues...I mean, when I say things are getting worse on the meds and the ER confirms it, you might want to listen but what do I know, I'm not a Dr. lol right?  I mean heck, I'm even too ignorant to know my own symptoms....okay, I just stepped over the line into anger over some of it, so time to back away and find something amazing in today to be thankful for.

TJ, still praying for you and your appointment not to mention your kids.

I just deleted the first post that I was going to post. I guess the less I say about certain things the better.

Anyway, thanks for the prayers.

oh don't feel that way, it's just constant pain and severely restricted life due to Dr. who don't listen sometimes wear on me...I'm okay again, just needed to pull away long enough to refocus on how God is using it, not how wrong it was.

It wasn't anything you said. I was going to go into further detail about the radiation overdose but then decided not to so I deleted the post and started over.

So I went to my doctor appointment today. It seems that my son may have been mistaken about who the woman was and why she was there. She was an older woman and she said that she was training to be a nurse practitioner and I have no reason to doubt her word on that. I asked her a few questions. She did speak and act like a doctor so maybe that's why my son thought that she was more than a student or someone in training. But I didn't feel comfortable with her in the room. She was standing in front of me near the wall and she was looking at me and that was a small room. At one point, I told her that my doctor was the best doctor I've ever had and that I had had some bad experiences with doctors in the past. She asked, what about nurse practitioners? I hesitated to answer and then said, well, ….a nurse practitioner misdiagnosed me. I was being honest. I'm sure she wanted an honest answer. So hopefully she will learn something from what I said.

My doctor was asking a lot of questions regarding sheltering in place and if I had  visitors and whether I had been visiting family or friends. He asked how I was getting groceries. Was I going out to a grocery store. I felt like I was being interrogated. That made me uncomfortable and with the woman in the room looking at me, even more so. But I guess he was following guidelines. He's never questioned me like that before. Those were personal questions about my private life. That's the way I felt about that. One of the last things he said was that at some point maybe they will come up with a vaccine that works and I cringed.

I'm surprised that you went to your appointment and didn't insist that the other person wasn't present.
It looks like you handled it well though...

Maybe you should have asked your quack doctor on how a vaccine could ever work on a virus that mutates every year. If a virus mutates every year, the best they could (hypothetically) make is a vaccine that protects against last year's virus strain.
Or maybe you could find a doctor that brings next year's vaccine that protects against this year's virus?!?

I wanted to know exactly who the person was and why they were there and be able to ask them questions. Nobody at my doctor's office told me anything ahead of time. I wouldn't have known that she would be there at all if my son hadn't mentioned it. So I was somewhat prepared for her. I wasn't prepared to be interrogated by my doctor though. It was like seeing a side of him that I've never seen before. I know he doesn't want to lose his practice and has to follow guidelines and he is following it to the letter. I tried to be respectful but I stood my ground.

I wouldn't have been able to discuss a vaccine without getting upset. So I didn't comment on that.

If it comes down to being forced to take the vaccine then I will really cause a scene. No doubt about that.
