I'm here because I was referred to as a "scammer" by this forum's owner because I use an adaptive optics unit when taking deep space photos with my telescope.  This is unacceptable and defamatory.  The owner of this forum seems to be ignorant and does not understand what adaptive optics are for.  They do not create "fake images" and all of my photos are real.  I use an 8" Meade LX200 telescope with an SBIG ST-2000XCM camera and SBIG AO-7 adaptive optics to take very long exposures of various nebulae, galaxies, and other distant objects.  The AO-7 is a tilt/tip mirror system which directs the light onto the CCD and corrects for the position of a guide star multiple times a second, faster than the telescope's own motors could respond, in order to compensate for drive tracking errors and atmospheric distortions.  It does not create fake or scam images.  This page has a written summary:
