There are many more vaccines one gets when going abroad. Take one that is a vaccine against a Bacteria. A Bacteria that produces a "endo /exo" toxin that cause diarriah, know as Dysentery. The cause agent is Vibrio Cholera.

The vaccines are to stimulate the individuals immune system only...If there is a problem, then it is with the carrier (the liquid the DEAD virus,bateria, etc is suspended in.)

Yes, back then medicine was just really coming into its own. Really all we had back then was Polio and Samllpox.. As it got into the 70's, DPT (Diptheria, Tetnus and Pertussus (whooping Cough) was given to the children before they went to school.. This was what age 5-6.... Not when they are born as some are trying to say. I think it is standard for the vaccines prior to elementary school.....

As you can see, All the maladies of birth would have already been discovered long before the vaccines would be introduced in the child.

I lived in the Medical field for twenty-five years back then and we were just beginning to scratch the surface. What vaccines we had, saved thousands if not millions. I would not be afraid to give my children or grandchildren in my case, the vaccines recommended for elem. school... The youngsters will carry the immunity for many many years in the future.

I hope all understand where I am coming from.... An outbreak of Measles in NYCity killed 500 or more. This was prior to any measles vaccine was available.
