All I can offer you is broken bread.  You can decide if you want to eat it, or not.

People often think of heaven as far off, but that isn't how the Christ described it.  He taught us to pray to 'our' Father-- ours and his, one and the same.  Ever thought of it like that?  Have you ever believed it like that?

And he taught us to pray to this mutual Father of ours--- 'Thy kingdom (the Kingdom of Heaven) come.'

Thy will be done.... On the earth, as (thy will is done also) in heaven.

"Heaven" or the kingdom of heaven is not a physical place, but spiritual.  It should be thought of as a place 'within us.'  Yet, the place within us can be perceived.  Do you know how?

You cannot fully perceive of that which is within by looking at the outward appearance, but you can conceive of the idea that a container is made for a purpose.

"He Himself knew what was in man." (John 2)

So rather than telling you about the kingdom of heaven- let me ask you about it.  What do you perceive of heaven by looking within yourself?

If someone was sent to us on a mission to express what it is like, to what could they compare it to offer even a glimpse?

https://youtu.be/5Gvrp20_WXM

so all in all, everything is spiritual and we are what we are today and that is all there is,.?

Is this what you are saying..?????.

1 Cor 15:3-4.."For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:"

Acts 17:11.."These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so."

If I'd said that, you wouldn't have to ask if I'd said that.

Thank you. I believe heaven is pure love where the feeling of love and peace is infinite or complete. We all yearn to see our family and friends again in heaven. I feel like we will know all things that God reveals and we will all know each other. Yes, I want to worship God and sing and praise Him but I want my earthly loved ones to be with me.

It's not exactly like that.

Beyond the door there's peace I'm sure
And I know there'll be no more tears in heaven

Neither married or given in marriage.

While Jesus was still talking to the crowd, his mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to speak to him.  Someone told him, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to you.”

He replied to him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” Pointing to his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers.  For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”

The man of a thousand faces
Sits down at the table
Eats a small lump of sugar
And smiles at the moon like he knows her
And begins his quiet ascension
Without anyone's sturdy instruction
To a place of no religion
Has found a path to our alikeness
His words are quiet like stains are
On a table cloth washed in a river
Stains that are trying to cover, for each other
Or at least blend in with the pattern

Good is better than perfect
Scrub til your fingers are bleeding
And I'm crying for things that I tell others to do without crying
He used to go to his favorite bookstores
And rip out his favorite pages
And stuff them into his breast pocket
And the moon to him was a stranger
Now he sits down at the table
Right next to the window
And begins his quiet ascension
Without anyone's sturdy instruction
To a place of no religion
Has found a path to our alikeness
And eats a small lump of sugar
And smiles at the moon like he knows her

When I got my invitation to join this site by Patrick I admit I was confused.  Patrick and I had disagreed more than agreed on things in Theology Forum.  We always had calm and intellectual disagreements and respected each other differences though, and that is very important to me.

It is threads like this one presently that makes me glad I came to this site and I thank him for the invite.

I would like to add more to the discussion in this thread but I think everything has been said I would have said.
Say each prayer as if it is your very last conversation with God and live each day as your last day to glorify God by your actions and words.”

Thank you Mark. I know we likely don't agree on the true nature of the earth and cosmos but we may agree on many things theologically. I liked your posts and you as a person and thought to invite you. Thank you for contributing so much here.

I'm offering a notably different view of things that is likely far from what most folks think.  And furthermore, I recognize that what I offer isn't even particularly appealing to the mind and senses, least of all to traditional thinking.  It might even be offensive.

So why mention it?

Because this bread I've been given I am to break and share.  No more, no less.  And this I will do.

As the parable of the seeds is the key to understanding all parables, this key is then used to unlock many doors to the kingdom of heaven.

“For it is just like a man about to go on a journey, who called his own slaves and entrusted his possessions to them. “To one he gave five talents, to another, two, and to another, one, each according to his own ability; and he went on his journey.  “Immediately the one who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and gained five more talents. “In the same manner the one who had received the two talents gained two more.  “But he who received the one talent went away, and dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money."

Who is this man who went away?  And what was it that he entrusted to his servants?  Finally, who were the servants?

The kingdom of heaven is very different than the place that most people the world over associate with the concept of "heaven."  Most people think of it as a place of eternal rest and of peace- and indeed there is such 'a city' within this kingdom, but this is only one part of the kingdom.  It's a gated community for a reason.  People use terms such as "spiritual warfare" loosely and without consideration that in spirit the battles fought and won are not esoteric allusions or ethereal beliefs, but real conflict.  They mistakenly think that 'not flesh and blood' must mean 'not real warfare.'  This is error.

So a man came and went, but while he was here he took bread and gave thanks and broke it and of this he said 'This is my body given for you.'

And they ate it.

“Now after a long time the master of those slaves came and settled accounts with them."

Jesus tells us exactly what the parables mean.....yet you offer your own interpretation.......against Jesus?   unbelievable.

Hello Bladerunner

Perhaps you can tell me which part is as you say- "against Jesus?"

It would help to repeat the WORD of GOD, not your own words about the parables,..He tells all of us the meanings. DOn't try to change them, They are literal.
