I had to stop reading when you said that the angel of the Lord is God. That right there takes a bigger leap of faith than the trinity because the words are clear, It was an angel OF the Lord - NOT The Lord

I know, .. that's what I'm talking about, if Jesus is a god, the Holy Spirit is another god, the Father is yet another, then why not the Angel of the Lord?

When Moses went up the mountain, did he go see and talk to a bush that was on fire, an Angel of the Lord, or did he come before God Himself?

a) Moses spoke to God
b) Moses spoke to the Angel of the Lord
c) Moses spoke to a bush on fire that didn't burn up

All three are Biblically legitimate answers.

If you choose "a" above, then why do Trinitarians misunderstand the verse 28 here in John?

John 20:26 A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them.
Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!”
27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”
28 Thomas said to him,
“My Lord and my God!”

29 Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Love you all.

If you would read the Bible literally, you would find out Jesus Christ has many names.

I agree, something like 50 names, here is a few,

* Alpha and Omega – “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.” Rev. 22:13
* Advocate – “My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father--Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.” 1 John 2:1
* Author and Perfecter of Our Faith – “Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Heb. 12:2
* Authority – “Jesus said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” Matt. 28:18
* Bread of Life – “Then Jesus declared, ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.’” John 6:35
* Beloved Son of God – “And behold, a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” Matt. 3:17
* Bridegroom – “And Jesus said to them, “Can the wedding guests mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast.” Matt. 9:15
* Chief Cornerstone – “The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief corner stone.” Ps. 118:22
* Deliverer – “And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.” 1 Thess.1:10
* Immanuel – “…She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel, which means 'God with us.’” Is. 7:14
* Indescribable Gift – “Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift.” 2 Cor. 9:15
* Judge – “…he is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead.” Acts 10:42
* King of Kings – “These will wage war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful.” Rev. 17:14
* Lamb of God – “The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:29
* Light of the World – "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." John 8:12
* Lion of the Tribe of Judah – “Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals.” Rev. 5:5
* Lord of All – “For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Phil. 2:9-11

Here is what Jesus is not: God the Father, even though many Bible versions put that in like in Revelations, and other NT books, to keep the Trinity-gods alive.

* Christ is our Mediator – “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” 1 Tim. 2:5

the above would make no sense through Trinity translation: For there is one God, and mediator God between God and men, the man-God Christ Jesus.

What I have noticed over the years is that even those who oppose the Bible, even the ones who claim to be atheist have defended the Trinity Doctrine!? Why is that?

God bless

A trick question to be sure.

In Exodus 3:2.."And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed."

In Exodus 3:3.."And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt."

In Exodus 3:4..."And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I."

In Exodus 3:6.."Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God."

So the answer to you question is all of the above>

Well, I was hoping that you see that in the Trinity-gods God is a God, the son is a God, and the Holy Spirit is a God, and now you say, the two others above are God also?

How about this; remember Jesus saying:

John 14:9  (NIV)
9 Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

Now imagine Moses up on the Mountain of God as he is trembling and kneeling before the Fiery Angel of the Lord in the Bush that won't burn up asking the Angel: "Can you show me God, so I could tell the Children of Israel back in Egypt that I have seen and talked to their Heavenly Father God?"

What do you think the Angel of the Lord would tell Moses? Maybe something like this?

"Don’t you know me, Moses, even after I have been talking to you on this mountain for such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen God. So how can you say, ‘Show me the Father so when I go back to Egypt I could tell the Children of Israel I seen Him’!?

Do you see it now my friend?

John 1:14 (NKJV)
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

… 18 No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has
declared Him.

So just as the Fiery Angel of the Lord declared/revealed God to Moses, the son Word came down, became flesh and declared/revealed God to us.
In both cases it was God speaking, but we don't make them God, or parts that make up who God is, right?

I mean we hope when people see and talk to us, that they "see God in us", .. right?

1 Corinthians 3:16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 17 If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.

Interesting Arius....you are now recognizing Jesus as GOD?  BUT then you try to turn it into ---> three are separate GODs!.

****
you said:" "Can you show me God, so I could tell the Children of Israel back in Egypt that I have seen and talked to their Heavenly Father God?""

Maybe you could contact those who write the NIV Version of the Bible and sell them the above statement. It would fit right in that book!

****
you said:"So just as the Fiery Angel of the Lord declared/revealed God to Moses, the son Word came down, became flesh and declared/revealed God to us.
In both cases it was God speaking, but we don't make them God, or parts that make up who God is, right?"

According to you, I must call the "Angel of the Lord" another GOD

John 14:7.."If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him."

If you will back up 2 verses of John 14, you will see what Jesus is telling you. Then, if you back another verse, you can see what Jesus is telling you, what you have to do to get Salvation?

John 14:6.."Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

Here again, you are speaking in circles: "In both cases it was God speaking" Yes, in both cases it was GOD speaking. I agree to this!

"but we don't make them God, or parts that make up who God is, right?""

Wrong!!! Jesus is GOD as is the Holy Spirit.   In many places of the NT, Jesus tells the apostles:

Mat 28:19.."Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:"

The bottom line is, you do not believe in GOD, The SON and the HOLY Spirit. Yet, you claim salvation?    Interesting

Whaaa?? You didn't read what I said? If I was to claim Jesus as God, I shown you that I would have to claim the Fiery Angel of the Lord as God also, so why is the Fiery Angel of the Lord not part of the Trinity-gods?

Quote
Blade said - you said:" "Can you show me God, so I could tell the Children of Israel back in Egypt that I have seen and talked to their Heavenly Father God?""

Maybe you could contact those who write the NIV Version of the Bible and sell them the above statement. It would fit right in that book!

I proposed that question to you, as referring to the trinity-gods, which you would have to add all the other manifestations of God on earth, not just Jesus and the holy Spirit.

Quote

you said:"So just as the Fiery Angel of the Lord declared/revealed God to Moses, the son Word came down, became flesh and declared/revealed God to us.

So how will you receive salvation by making Jesus into a sun-god, and worship three gods instead of One?
Jesus said: "No one comes to the Father except by/through me", .. he did not say the "me" was God, never.

Quote
John 14:6.."Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

Here again, you are speaking in circles: "In both cases it was God speaking" Yes, in both cases it was GOD speaking. I agree to this!

.. so was the Angel of Fire that appeared to Moses God also? If you make Jesus God, the Holy Spirit God, then why not the Angel of Fire?

Quote
"but we don't make them God, or parts that make up who God is, right?""

Wrong!!! Jesus is GOD as is the Holy Spirit.   In many places of the NT, Jesus tells the apostles:

Mat 28:19.."Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:"

Sorry, that's a Trinity baptism over babies before they are able to accept, or refuse anything. For us Believers there is only One Baptism, .. unless someone will go as far as claiming they were baptized in Arius.

Can you answer my previous question?

Quote
arius asked - When Moses went up the mountain, did he go see and talk to a bush that was on fire, an Angel of the Lord, or did he come before God Himself?

a) Moses spoke to God
b) Moses spoke to the Angel of the Lord
c) Moses spoke to a bush on fire that didn't burn up

Quote

So why isn't the "Bush on Fire that didn't burn up, and the Angel of the Lord are not included in the Trinity-gods as well as all the other Angels/Thunder/Still Small Voice etc. that God was speaking through?

Deuteronomy 4:14 And the Lord directed me at that time to teach you the decrees and laws you are to follow in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess.
Idolatry Forbidden

15 You saw no form of any kind the day the Lord spoke to you at Horeb out of the fire. Therefore watch yourselves very carefully, 16 so that you do not become corrupt and make for yourselves an idol, an image of any shape, whether formed like a man or a woman, 17 or like any animal on earth or any bird that flies in the air, 18 or like any creature that moves along the ground or any fish in the waters below. 19 And when you look up to the sky and see the sun, the moon and the stars—all the heavenly array—do not be enticed into bowing down to them and worshiping things the Lord your God has apportioned to all the nations under heaven.

Quote
Am going to wait and see where you are going to take this.

Blade[/shadow]

My friend, you said: Jesus was GOD manifest in the Flesh.

I agree, and never denied that.

Manifest
past tense: manifested; past participle: manifested
display or show (a quality or feeling) by one's acts or appearance; demonstrate.
"Jesus manifested/demonstrated/revealed/declared signs of his Father"
synonyms:
display, show, exhibit, demonstrate, betray, present, evince, reveal, indicate, make plain, express, declare

then you put in quote: (Jesus is God and God is Jesus)
Which is what I'm waiting for you to show Scripturally, .. right? Otherwise we could, like the J.W's did with "Gods-name", or how the Mormons did included the divinations of Mormo, Christians too can re-write the whole Bible accord to the Trinity. Here would be a few examples starting with Mathew 1

Matthew 1 King James Version (KJV)
1:1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ God, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

.. 18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ God was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of God
(Holy Ghost whom the trinity claims is also God).

John 1 King James Version (KJV)
1 In the beginning was the Word God, and the Word God was with God, and the Word God was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
.. 14 And the Word God was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

John 3:16 King James Version (KJV)
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son God, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The rest is the Trinity Translation according to the gentile nation Rome, as approved by the Holiest of Fathers the Pope would go something like this:

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten God, that whosoever believeth in God should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not Himself into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through God might be saved.
18 He that believeth on God is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten God of God.

Colossians 1:12 giving thanks to the Father-God who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. 13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the God of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through Gods blood, the forgiveness of sins. (for God shed His blood and died)
15 God is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by God all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through God and for God.

19 For it pleased God that in God all the fullness should dwell, 20 and by God to reconcile all things to Himself, by God, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of Gods cross.

Now these next verses loose the core message through the Trinity:

Colossians 2:4 Now this I say lest anyone should deceive you with persuasive words. 5 For though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and the steadfastness of your faith in God.
6 As you therefore have received God the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 rooted and built up in God and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to God. 9 For in God dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; 10 and you are complete in God, who is the head of all principality and power.

Colossians 3:If then you were raised with God, seek those things which are above, where God is, sitting at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For you died, and your life is hidden with God in God. 4 When God who is our life appears, then you also will appear with God in glory.
.. 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord God, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Don't you see, that if Jesus is God, then you make God turn into flesh/sin for us, shed His blood and died by the hands of the Romans who now call themselves Christians. Thus the Romans not only killed Jesus the son of God, but God Himself.
So with God dead, they can fill the gap with stories which they call scientific theories like the Big Bang and Evolution, creating a new Heaven (space full of planets) and a new earth (a spinning, evolving paper-globe) with apes created in their Gods image.

I pray to the Lord that you would see that this is blasphemy, all of it!

Arius

Arius, I gave you one scripture and you wanted more for you did not believe the scriptures I gave you. Yes,  GOD is Jesus and Jesus is GOD.

Your Blasphemy: (God's son WORD)... is So SAD!

Your said:" Thus the Romans not only killed Jesus the son of God, but God Himself."

Jesus was a MAN at the time of His Crucifixion. "God was manifest in the Flesh".

Blade

Now you say that our Infinite and Eternal God can become all flesh and actually die? It's because how over the history the word Infinite was changed into a "size", instead of "I Am".
Look:

Infinite
adjective
1. limitless or endless in space, extent, or size; impossible to measure or calculate.
synonyms:
boundless, unbounded, unlimited, limitless, without limit, without end, never-ending

Once we think of God/Infinite as space, we loose our concept of God. Space has to have borders to be called "space"
How much space do you have left in your car, .. etc.

Think of Infinite as your Mind, for our mind/spirit is of God, it too is Infinite. You cannot fill your mind with things, never, there will always be room for more. You could think of infinite number of imaginary expanding universes and since our mind has no borders, it remains infinite.

Now think of a car, it's in your mind, and with your spirit you can check this car out, you can re-design it, enlarge it to any size, this proves that our mind is conscious. That "we exist" and it's separate of our limited body.

This is why God told Moses as to who He was: "I Am", because He Is The Conscious Infinite and Eternal Mind/Spirit
We are In God, meticulously created just like an engineer creates a car, or whatever, in his mind, and then, manifests it through Gods creation of materials we find in our little world. But God has to create every material atom by atom, design it and retain that info so it won't change. This is what we make inventions out of, the materials that God has created for us. These are set by rules
and laws. That's what reality is, that's what the physical universe, Heaven and earth and everything in it is made of, rules ans laws created by our Creator God.

Now imagine yourself, your spirit/mind without your body, you would be just spirit. You will still exist in God as information, only without a body, everything about you is retained in God/Spirit/Mind, .. who you are, and everything you have ever done or thought of is there in God/Infinite.
Now God will give us New bodies for our mind/spirit to possess, and a new place to dwell.

You see, once we understand God, we understand how silly it is to say God/Infinite/Mind can become flesh and die. Impossible.
But a created being can give up eternity, jump into time here on earth, ..  and age, and even be killed, which is really the ruining of the body beyond our mind/spirit ability to control it, like a wrecked car, nothing works on it anymore, then our spirit/mind just leaves it, since it's useless.

Arius
Galatians 2:20 (NKJV)
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

There is but One Infinite and Eternal God, and since Infinite is borderless, you can't have any other gods besides Him.

God did not die, His son Word did, for you and for me, because - John 3:16

God is not a being, but the Ground of being - Tillich

Re: As A Man Thinketh...

Seek the Lord my friend, but just so you know that "there are many false Christs out there", .. many denominations yelling: "He's here, .. no, he is over there!"
Read the Bible, if there is anything in there (not what some God hater atheist, or Religious Priest who want's to get you in his church told you) that you don't understand, hey, I'm here, I can maybe explain!? If not me, there is a lot of good info out there, all you have to do is look, seek, knock!
Why would I restrict myself to one book, doctrine?!?

I’m more curious in how a man “thinketh” than religion. I believe that a man that thinks for himself doesn’t need any religious scripture. I also think that all organised religion is evil, mind control - per definition.
I DO believe that the teachings of Joshua of Nazareth can be used as an antidote to mind control...

When I read the Quran, I was surprised how similar it was to the Bible – very similar to the Tanach (Old Testament).
My interpretation of the Quran is that it is no more or less than Mohammed’s interpretation of the Bible. This doesn’t make him a prophet of course, and he was lying when he told his gullible followers that it was told to him by the archangle Gabriel.

Reading some of your posts on the Trinity made me realise that there is no Trinity in the Quran.
I’m curious what you “thinketh” about Islam.

The following excerpts from the Quran are against the Trinity doctrine of the New Testament.

— Sura 4 (An-Nisa), ayat 171[3]
Quote
O People of the Scripture. do not commit excess in your religion or say about Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, was but a messenger of Allah and His word which He directed to Mary and a soul [created at a command] from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers. And do not say, "Three"; desist - it is better for you. Indeed, Allah is but one God. Exalted is He above having a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs.

— Sura 5 (Al-Ma'ida), ayat 72-75[4]
Quote
They have certainly disbelieved who say, " Allah is the Messiah, the son of Mary" while the Messiah has said, "O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Indeed, he who associates others with Allah - Allah has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers. They have certainly disbelieved who say, " Allah is the third of three." And there is no god except one God. And if they do not desist from what they are saying, there will surely afflict the disbelievers among them a painful punishment. So will they not repent to Allah and seek His forgiveness? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. The Messiah, son of Mary, was not but a messenger; [other] messengers have passed on before him. And his mother was a supporter of truth. They both used to eat food. Look how We make clear to them the signs; then look how they are deluded.

— Sura 5 (Al-Ma'ida), ayat 116-118[5]
Quote
And [beware the Day] when Allah will say, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, did you say to the people, 'Take me and my mother as deities besides Allah ?'" He will say, "Exalted are You! It was not for me to say that to which I have no right. If I had said it, You would have known it. You know what is within myself, and I do not know what is within Yourself. Indeed, it is You who is Knower of the unseen. I said not to them except what You commanded me - to worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord. And I was a witness over them as long as I was among them; but when You took me up, You were the Observer over them, and You are, over all things, Witness. If You should punish them - indeed they are Your servants; but if You forgive them - indeed it is You who is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

@Firestarter - I don't know where that crap you posted came from and I don't want to. That's apparently another one of many problems you have. You reject the Bible for some reason and instead you read and post fiction.
Hearing, believing and trusting the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross; His death, burial and resurrection for the forgiveness of sins and REPENTING, seals us with that Holy Spirit of Promise - EPHESIANS 1:10-14 KJV - The Lord is not slack concerning His promise. 2 Peter 3:9 KJV - 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV - Ephesians 1:10-14 KJV - Romans 10:9-10 KJV - Romans 10:13 - Romans 10:17 - Ephesians 1:7 KJV - Colossians 1:14 KJV -
