Yup, also the bible is a book of disputes, debates between opposing factions. Paul if he can't find someone to argue with him conjures up an imaginary opponent. He will often say things like "but someone will say..." and he presents an argument which he then begins to demolish.
But there are arguments between deadly opponents, we should be able to discern between disagreements between brethren and an assault by the enemy.
This is basically what i’ve Been trying to figure out how to say, so thank you. Somewhere along the lines, it’s become commonplace to stop thinking of eachother as brethren. We often forget that the differences don’t make us enemies. The real enemy is taking advantage of the confusion.
